Hello from Chicago

Greetings from Chicago. my name is Cindy and I recently got a hold of my very first Civic wagon. Picture to come as soon as I figure out how to upload them to the site. It's a '90, brown, 2-wd, auto, 156K, no mods. Bought it off a machanic who used it as a parts-getter (man was the interior filthy but I've since cleaned her up!) Oh, I paid $500. The exterior has the usual Honda rust in the wheel wells and other places. I also get a lot of wind noise from the drivers side window. Weatherstrip problem? Easy fix?

No mods planned, just want to get it mechanically sound.

Things that need my attention or a mechanic's:

Front right upper control arm: estimate $250-too much?
Tires- any suggestions?
Shifter cable? Very hard to shift from park to reverse/drive
Loud creaking noise coming from rear when going over speed bumps. Any ideas what it might be?
Shocks on back door
Radio-It has a non-working Sony radio cassette and I just found a working OEM am-fm cassette from a '91 Civic wagon. Should fit I hope.
Antenna
passenger side mirror
Drivers seat-badly torn

Anyway, other than those things she's a strong runner.
Glad to have found this site.
