just doesnt wanna turn over sometimes... y?

so i'm wondering why, sometimes the engine just won't turn over after i'm done driving it. i've noticed... after i drive it (occasionaly) when i go back to start'er up, it just won't turn over. Kinda seems like the engine would be flooded. I'll wait about 10 minutes really, and it'll start. But it's very hesistant on starting than.

Now usually it takes a few seconds of cranking to get it to start up initially for the first time each day. Should i be just sitting there warming it up for a few minutes? It looses idle and dies if I don't normally.

Also, today... Well i just got it back a few days ago. As the timing belt snapped en route. I've lost cylinder #2. it 'runs' right now on 3 cyl's... I'm waiting for some spare $$ to go hit up the jy and get a crx head, and new headgasket. But what i'm wondering, is should i do the jy run, or could i just replace the valves...? mechanic said there was a bent valve.. i physically haven't seen it, as i can't work on the car in my apartments..

Recommendations?

btw: engine is EW1/2 1.5l carb'd 1986 with over 200k

i would say it sounds like a Main Relay, but i dont know if the 3rd gens came with them, also with those other issues i doubt thats it.

    that's all anyone has noticed!!!!

just get like a weber carb kit for the d16? that what you mean? i have no idea how to make it so it's carb'd...
  • Some older DOHC ZC's came with carbs and I know that DOHC d16a1 from first gen Integras fit ino your gen Wagon because of the funky driver side motor mount. So maybe you could find a low mileage d16a1 in your area and find the OEM carbs from a DOHC carb'd ZC at a fairly reasonable price. A kind of mix and match.... I think Haydz knows somethings about the carb'd ZC since New Zealand had those models imported. It may be a shot in the dark but it might not be a long shot. Check out Red Pepper Racing forums also, they are strictly your gen civic/crx models(wagon included). Also check out this wiki. And this.

I know that d16a1 motors are the only direct swap into your year wagon because they have the unusual motor mount(and you can't just swap the mount because it bolts differently to the block/head) but you would have to swap the wiring harness over from the your year Civic/CRX Si to be able to run fuel injection. I think JDM wise the dohc Integ motor was the "Si" motor for the early Civic/CRX's.

when i first came to HCW i was told about the carb'd ZC.. it's pretty hard to get needles to say. apparently i already have an account with rpr.. forgot about that. i'll check it out... but for now, i gotta hit the sack!

Davens used to run a DOHC ZC dual-carb in his '87 RT4WD. Bolts up fine as long as you use the dual-carb one. I think all the relevant info is on RPR. No one really goes hardout into the 3rd gen wagons on here. If they do they generally don't write-up about it.
