Driving without a tune

So I've got a built Z6 which is boosted and on Hondata. My tuner is about a 45m drive from my house and I've already been there once (had a main seal leak) and rented a uhaul to drive the car there and back which was about $120 each way.

I have a base tune currently installed and Im wondering if I stay out of boost and just drive slowly over to the tuner if that would be ok, or is it in my best interest not to drive at all without a tune?
