eh im cheap i found an OE set of rears for about $50 ill just use them if i think im gunna have room for the ebrake cable. so far ive got nothing into the parts so if it doesnt work oh well....
wonder if they are the same as teggy rotors..... that would make thing realy nice
the 2002-2003 ep civic si brakes are same as type-R tegs if im not mistaken. the rears are the same as type-R. this the reason why im interested in this for my rear disc conversion. i have the legend/prelude 11.1" set up for the fronts.
okay finally kinda tackled this today and i did a lil grinding on the trailing arm, need to get EP3 rotors, and maybe heating up and bending the E-break cable bracket, and possibly machining the calipers mounting surface a lil bit its gunna work. teggy rotors are about 7/8ths of an inch smaller so i gave myself a lil less than a half inch extra room and it might just be the difference in it working or not. more updates when the ep3 rotors show up
Teg rotors will work too.Extra 1/2" is not needed.Just means less bending of the arm.
Depending on your method caliper grinding is NOT needed.Have seen 9.5" work & none needed caliper grinding except e-brake brkt grinding.

im tryin to keep grinding and bending to a minimal and besides how gagnster will a 10.3" rotor look.... if i move the caliper any closer i will have to grind more of the trailing arm as well as grind the caliper where the E-break cable bracket bolts to the caliper. as for machining the mounting surface its only cuz i dont want to make the bracket thin i want to get another 1/4" or so for peace of mind. im kinda hoping the hat on the EP3 rotor is a lil shorter then the machining wont be neeeded.
I can visualize where your design is going.I agree with you on the thickness. The one from Ebay looked about 1/4" and 1 other design.I just didn't feel comfortable with the thinness .
im sure it works fine but for piece of mind i just want to have it a lil thicker. im just to cheap to buy the rotors right now so it might be a lil while till i get a brackets finished.

i will patiently wait for your progress. keep it up and thanks
ordered some EP3 rear rotors! i will work on them early next month to build the bracket to mount the caliper but i leave for arizona on about the 16th so i will prolly not get them on my car. im gunna be gone till about mid-march to mid-april...... im letting a friend borrow my wagon while im gone and i dont want to leave it without being completely finished and safe. besides its effin cold here.
well the test fit kinda sucked...... the caliper is gunna need some clearencing to get the pads to completely touch. the rotors are a tad thicker as well and i wasnt able to get the caliper to slide on. i didnt spend a lot of time on it but im hoping i can push the piston in far enough to make it work if not ill have them resurfaced till they are the same thickness as teggy rotors. other than that i think its gunna work just fine and good news i dont leave till the end of the month for AZ so i get a lil more time to get them mounted up.
From my other post (can be merged here if Mods feel it would suit the site better)
I was going through some pages on H-T and came across this guy that made a little how-to convert rear drums on his Crv to Rear Discs. I think this can help people here.
Sorry but I just ran out of time i thought i was gunna be here till the end of the month but boss called me 3 days ago and said get my ass LA. Im driving the wagon to sacramento on saturday picking up the work truck and headin to santa barbra to stay the night with a friend. if things go as planned ill be back in 2-3 months i hope its more like 4 months so i can take some time off and move when i get home.... i need an extra room for the baby and a garage to paint the wagon in would be nice too....
For what it's worth, we do a mod here to CRX's with rear dsics using the EP3 carrier and the stock caliper IIRC.
I've not done it yet but I can crib the info.
Gives 262 rear discs.
I'm still on the drums tho and we have a car here (sorry USA didn't get it) which gives bigger drums.

Tegs are 10.3, not sure on the Si
2002 2003 civic si has 10.3" front rotors
