A quick rant regarding junk/salvage yards

Ok, I had just finished taking off the passenger mirror of a wagon at the local salvage yard and a guy heading to the maroon old school volvo beside me starts bitching. The guy was pissed! I would've been too! All he needed was the passenger side mirror as it matched his car I guess. Apparently he was there a couple weeks ago and decided not to get it then. Now, it was gone but the person who took it trashed a lot of the door and rest of the car to get it. Why? What was the purpose of doing that? I'm sure others could have used pieces from the door, ya? Geez...

Just get the parts you need and leave the rest for those who need them. Don't trash the fetching car!!! There's nothing worse than spotting the car you're looking for at the salvage yard only to find all the pieces trashed or broken... and not due to an accident but to stupid idiots who decide they're going to have a little destructive fun! All idiots I tell ya!

And also, I don't know if they do this at your salvage yards, but there will always be three of the same rims near a car, whether on, beside or in it but never a 4th. I could've had a good set of bottlecaps with excellent tires but the 4th was missing! There was also a triple of some tri-spoke rims from a SAAB I think. 4th one missing too! Same for some 13" mesh type wheels I spotted. Those would've looked good on the wagon.

Rant over. Thanks!

I hate to see kids out there smashing windows and trying to rip doors off. As for the rims, here they do that so you have to come up and ask them for the 4th so they can charge you up the
  • Yeah there are always three because somebody bought the other so they can have a matching spare instead of a donut (at least here). :D

skinny: I never though about that. They're pretty legit though so I doubt that's the case.

rage: Now your scenario sounds more like it. Come to think of it, there where 3 white rt4wd rims there too. | should have picked one up as a spare. Hope they are there next time I head up.

What rage said happens here too.
  • it is the same observation here in socal area. some people are just mean and stupid to do those things. im no lifting my own chair but i dont do that. i dont trash stuff that i dont need coz i strongly believe in KARMA. for every action there is an equal opposite reaction. newston's first law.

hey I just trashed a window while at the junkyard yesterday...however it was for good cause....you see I was testing out my emergency window breaker..and guess what? it works!

Um I thought the reason for being only 3 wheels was because the car had it's life ending impact on one of the corners, hence the missing wheel.

The guys who run the yards around here would beat the crap out of you if they caught you trashing cars.
