ORG RallyX #1

So.. i came, i saw... i didn't conquere...

actually had GREAT pass times, but they take em all added.. and considering I rolled a bead on the 2nd pass that added too much time to my score. about 10 seconds at least. Sucked too cuz it was so gonna be my best time. I was flying!~ Anyway, here are some vids. I don't know the final results yet, but I know I didn't get top 3 this time. :'(

Starting the day, I left my steel sheet at home. So I was jacking the car up on wet/soft ground... Bad idea.. jack slumped down awkward, car lost its balance and slid right off. Had both front wheel off at the time. Borrowed a low profile jack from a friend, had another come and help lift the car enough to get the jack under.. Eventually made it. :edit: OH! and the 2nd time i jacked the car up, the jack was too slick and slid from the car and suddenly my bumper is bent!!!! I was afraid it went through the radiator. But it was ok.

Thinking on the 2nd pass coming through the 2nd of 5 round-abouts all the banging around and what/not my skid plate got RIPPED right off the car. Crazy... And entering the final round-about just in front of the finish, I blew a bead on the front drivers side. That totally killed my time by about 10 seconds. I still finished though!

I ripped a vac line loose after the skidplate came off and suddleny my idle problem is fixed... Well, actually not it idle's at about 5700rpm.... heh. hence why i was shutting the car off.

On the drive home it would stay fixed so i come to a stop light and the car is just LOUDER THAN HELL.... i was at first staying in gear, lifting off the clutch just barely while staying on the brake trying not to get too loud, than i smoke the $h!t outta my clutch and said forget it. Got the line fixed shortly after.

It was a good day. I had a blast!!!!

I need better butt holsters. So... i was reading about DC2 seats being swapable with lil effort? any other recommendations?

323 GTX at 8 seconds in the first vid? I love those cars.

What a blast. Looks like so much fun, and nice long runs. Im so jealous :(

We talked about a dirt race to see if we could spark any intrest in Rally a few years back, I even located a nice perfectly level field (a sod farm I worked at long ago), but nobody around here was interested. Buncha losers, lol.

Those are some pretty long runs, and the surface looks relatively smooth, not rough, rutted, or sandy (I saw a Hyundai go waaaaaay up on 2 wheels in sand at the last rallyx I was at  ). Awesome stuff!!! Bummer about the popped bead, though, and the other carnage you suffered. That's one of the main reasons I don't do much rallyx - the car is my daily driver, and I don't want to risk breaking it at a rallyx.

So what are you using for camera mounts? I still need to edit and post my ice racing videos, but I've got a RAM mount system with suction and magnetic bases. NER SCCA just banned suction cup mounts from inside cars for safety reasons (hard mount is OK).

ya, i'm not TOO worried about destroying the Honduh, but i don't want to intentionally. it's my 'race car' lol. I'm using a CruiseCam for the inside. AWESOME thing. so incredibly stable. mounts to the headrest posts... and for exterior it's a PanaVise suction mount.

The surface wasn't smooth, but i've had rougher. i was bouncing around more than usual. thinking my suspension has taken it's toll.
