'90 wagon Auto to Manual

Band Wagon
Hi. I've got a '90 wagon with a D16A6 with the stock Auto trans.
I got a D16A6 manual trans and a shifter linkage set from a CRX. Will this shifter linkage set work, or will I have to get a set from a wagon?
Thanks in advance

What he said. That conversion is a lot of work. I did a writeup for the DA teggys. Give it a read and decide if its somethign you wanna tackle. Some things will be different with a EF, but it will give you the jist of it. Click here: http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40496&highlight=shenrie+auto+manual
I basically just want to know if anybody knows if the linkage length is the same. I know that a CRX and Sedan are the same length but there are no wagons around for me to compare against. As far as "doing it right" if the linkage lengths are the same, there would be no reason to procure linkages from a wagon.
Guess I'll know when I start tearing stuff apart. Not looking forward to the pedal assy install. The rest is cake. Going to install a half-size rad and probably a 14b turbo also.

well i need to hot wire the clutch start switch and what about the auto nuetrel safety my friende did a crx swap but he took the entire wiring harness from a manual so he did a ground up conversion
I thought the linkage was the same length, when I sourced my parts I got them directly from a wagon so I didn't think twice about them but I am almost certain they are the same length. I want to say I compared it to a rex or hatch once I got it out. Either way when you get the automatic parts out there will have to be some floor modifications made regardless...
btw, nice write-up shenrie, thx for sharin that.
Aint no thang. Well mabie, considering I cant type to save my life
what wiring mods if any do i need to make the auto harness work i have a manual comp. of course im gonna go with a obd0 teg ls but i have a crx Si one too ?????
so neutral safety and clutch push start thats what i wanna know any inight i read shenrie write up but im in the dark still
They are different.I compared them & the part #'s are not the same.
Little more advanced thinking:By swapping around the for e.g. the CRX & wagon Linkages you can change the angle of the shifter to be closer or farther from you.If you're going to do this check for shifter clearances(like punching the radio shifting into 3rd.).
BEWARE:By changing the upper linkage(Torque tube) it'll change the location of the shifter & screws up the location of the center console.
You'll need togo to the Junkyard to cut out the section that the shifter/boot is located. You may need to cut far enough out to get the section that covers the old Automatic hole.Any Civic will do 88-91(usdm).Lucky if you find the same colour Civic and the shifter has been removed(so u don't need to do it).Bring a hacksaw, chisel, drift pin punch(to punch out roll pin in shift linkage),hammer & marker.Cuts pretty easy.
TIP:Get Poprivets(lots),silcone, spray paint(closest match to your Wgn color, but not necessary) & a can of spray Under coating.Good time to get poly bushings & short shifter(less than $ 20 from Ebay(aluminun too.)Good time to read my Trans TIPS @:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=103 When you find the wires(probably blk/wht ) connected to your Neutral Safety Switch .Just unplug them from the switch &connect them together.
Clutch push start switch is not needed.Just remember to b in neutral or push the clutch in otherwise you're Wgn will jump.'88 HB did not have this switch. If you want this switch. It's back to the Junkyard. To get the relay & wiring.Let me know if this is what you want. It's a bit more involved.Slammed @ work .Got to go! :x
you are the fucking man !!!!
hahah i want this to work and work right the first time and you have just made my life a little simpler !!!! thank you very much
You are great! i was really having a hard time dealing with this problem and since i dont have any money, I was so reluctant in going to a mechanic. Thanks for making me save some dollars. I will work on it immediately.
