LCA for 88 RT4WD(solved)

I was wondering if skunk 2 LCA will fit on my 88? There for eg, ek but I have been told there all the same. Reason i ask is the guy who owned my wagon befor me cut the stock springs and ended up welding a bolt into my LCA. I know i will prob have to upgrade my rear shocks to eg or ek cause of the width diff. Does anyone here have them on there wagon?

the 88 wagons had a different LCA design then the 89-91s. skunk2 ones WILL fit, but you will need to change out your shocks as well for 89-91 shocks.

good to know. a somewhat local shop to me is selling them for 170 a set so I cant pass it up. I already put the coil overs in so I guess I will just go all out skunk 2, something I though I would never do

DO not get EK shocks or LCAs. They are not the same as the EF and EG. The LCAs are longer (by a bunch) and the shocks have a different length lower shock bushing/fork.

Have a look at the part numbers at the bottom of the page here:

thanks for the reply and the link. Q, do you know if the LCA themself have the part number on them. I think they may have the box, well i hope the have the box.

I don't know if the part number is stamped on the arm or not. Just compare the length to your 88 wagon LCA. It'll be immediately obvious.

I cant take mine out. the guy who had it befor me more of less rigged it up and one of my LCA's has a bolt through the bottom of the shock through the LCA and welded the bolt in. I hate it when people dont do things right. but thats why i buy fixer uppers.

Just grab the LCA off the display at the shop, crawl under your car and hold it up. Like I said, it'll be very obvious that the arm is too long if it's for the EK.

Oh okay now that make sense
  • Sorry to dig up a dead post but, I have an 88 4wd already with skunk2 pro-s coilovers and blox lca's that previous owner purchased. I want to change color of lca's, so from what I've got from this post is as long as you change your coilovers to aftermarket or 89-91 coilovers the skunk2 88-95 lca's will fit?
  • If you have Blox LCAs right now, you don't need to change shocks to go with a new color of LCAs. Blox (or Skunk2 for that matter) don't have LCAs that are the same as your original ones. Yours have already been changed to the 89-95 style. Just buy new LCAs and swap them in.
  • Thanks jaker! I was hopin you'd chime in!
