speedo cable. another stoopid question

Once again. My manual doesn't help me at all.

My wagon got a new clutch about a month before I got it. The mechanic that did the job forgot to re-attach the speedo cable to the transmission.
So I flip opened my worthless manual to see where and how the cable attaches into the trans. It doesn't cover it :x .

I looked from the top side and didn't see anything obvious.

So where does it go?

so far I've got away with guessing how fast I'm going? I have a feeling my luck will run out before too long.

    This apllies to 4WD too.
    Look under:
    Transaxle,then
    2WD Manual Transmission,then
    Transmission Removal,then you'll see
    it labeled,''Speedometer Cable''
Pg 13-4 on my manual(mayb diff. on ur manual)

    my manual ends at 12-32.

went to the transaxle removal section

" 6. detach the speedometer cable and electrical connectors from the transaxle".

That clears it up for me :? .
I currently carry this in the wagon in case I need something to start a fire with. Or in case I have to use a public restroom and theres no toilet paper. :)
  • and theres no toilet paper
what happened to that fluffy rabbit ?

There's a flat level are on top of the diff. side of the transaxle, just above where the axles go in. sticking straight up out of that flat is a little gold-colored tube- just big enough for the cable to stick in. Stick the cable in it! The ferrule on the cable has a groove which corresponds to a slot in the speedo drive(the tube thingy). There's a funny little wire c-clip that goes in that groove.
