wierd vibration coming from passenger rear

i was getting on the free way yesterday around 50mph i feel a wild vibration comeing from my passenger rear. it went away and i continued my commute home. then getting off the free way it does it again around 50mph. so i test it out & accelerate again & there it goes shaking at 50 mph. it doesnt matter what gear or rpm but around 50 mph the same passenger rear vibration. i checked the lug nuts, all are fine. cv boots are fine. any other suggestions or experiences will be highly appreciated

someone at tire kingdom once told me that an out-of balanced tire will cause vibrations but only at a certain speed, and if you speed up or slow down it will go away.

so it could be a tire out of balance.. ?
  • it doesnt do it everytime though. like today driving to my moms it was fine.

Jack it up and check for play in any direction, especially fore-and-aft (bearings)

With the tire just clear of the ground, spin it while eyeballing the tread relative to the ground (tire out of round or separating)

    just a start...
  • no play fore & aft. put different tires on. it did the same thing. this time i thought the rear was gonna fall off. tomorrow i'm gonna jack it up & see if theres play in the diff. maybe the axle is going bad. theres no rip in the boot.

check the rear diff. mounts. i heard those go bad like this.
  • service manual says i need to check the drive shaft. all mounting points & play in the u joint.
