D16a6 Cam/ head questions

I've been reading up about this, am going to put the Si cam in the pebbleswagon along with the rest of the mpfi swap. I read somewhere that the a6 head casting is identical to the d15b2, true? Are the valves the same as well?
I ask because her engine has a newly done head, if I can just use the cam and followers from the d16 head, groovy. But... if there are advantages, I can use the whole Si head (after re-work)

Clear as mud, right?

    gracias.
  • heads are the same, there are two different cams for the 1.5 theres the base model wich has a 4 speed trans and a very small cam profile + a restictor plate in the throttle body 78hp if i remember, then the 94hp 1.5 from what ive seen there wasnt much difference in power between the dx and the si cams. but a great deal diffence in the base model and the si!
if you have redone the head already just throw the cam in there, you dont need to change the followers just a valve adjust. :D

Thanks alot! I'll change the followers as well... why not? I've always been taught to keep valvetrain parts wear-matched. Daddy said they "have gotten to know each other"

but then again, the follower has 3 contact surfaces, and only 1 is the cam lobe, duh. You're right! I want to get this done before the big SE caravan to Savannah in FIVE WEEKS!
