Weird Clutch and/or first gear issue

Ok, so got my new wago last week and the first thing I noticed, even when test driving, is that it is REALLY difficult to get started in first gear. its like you really need to baby it to get going without stalling out. Even if u dump it (which i did on accident once) it still just kinda sits for a few seconds and doesn't start moving, almost as if you were riding your clutch or something. shifting afterward is perfectly fine and the clutch really grabs between gears. Do you think adjusting the clutch cable to be looser would help at all?? or do you think it could be the tranny? thanks

  • Is it only when the car is cold, or is it every time you use 1st?

Everytime it seems. My old wagon was so easy to get started that this is worrying me a bit. Runs n drives great other than this.

You don't hear a 'ping' noise when it starts working properly? it might be the handbrake.. :)

no, dont believe it is that, plus no lights on dash for brake liek the crx i had that had the problem you are talking about. Maybe it is always happening just not as noticable when i am shifting between gears?? IDK thanks for the replies though

Sounds like engine fueling system problem.

You know after driving it for a month now I am beginning to think the clutch is just shot and slipping. I need a new one i guess. Thanks for your help.
