eBay adjustable spring

i jw if anyone has experience with ebay adjustable springs.

my father has them in his eclipse and the ride sucks but he is also on 4 blown stock struts.

im not interested in the spring really just the adjustable part that comes with them. once on honda-tech i saw a post bout them cracking open and breaking but i think they were installed wrong.

i know you can get name brand springs that have the adjustable part also but thats a lot more money than buying the ebay ones and then buying good springs seperate.

  • ill let you know when i get mine put on
  • Can you perhaps specify beyond "Ebay" spring as I can go on Ebay and find literally 10 different spring manufacturers from a single search.

    Got a link perhaps?
  • i put a couple links in the first post.
  • You get what you pay for when it comes to suspension..

I have Skunk2 shocks and springs and they weren't cheap, but they still ride pretty bad..

Ebay coilovers ride horrible, I don't care what anyone says.
  • yup ... put mine on and they ride like shit
  • i knew the springs ride like shit. i was more talkin bout just using the adjuster and then some skunk2 lowering springs. or like eibach or something like that.

You MUST upgrade the shocks while you're at it, or your car will bounce all over the place. Stiffer springs mean the shocks can't do enough damping, so you end up bouncing around instead. Bad for the ride, bad for traction - just bad all around.

We're about to get a set of stock springs for my gf's 88 CRX Si. It has eBay coilovers of some unknown variety right now. The drive from Keene, NH to home literally HURT me. I won't commute in it on these springs. At least, I wouldn't if the car was running...
  • i know that i will have to get different struts. i was thinkin KYB AGX or tokico illuminas. but then was looking price wise with struts and springs for a lil more i could just get some skunk2 coilovers.

anybody try both a strut/spring combo and then a full coilover? whats better for ride quality. idc if my wagon is so low that the mud flaps drag. i wanna be comfortable driving it.
  • if your buying skunk2 coilovers just use the sleeves they provide.

I'm impressed with the ride of my Skunk2 struts they were worth the money.
  • right now on ebay there are some ksport REFURBISHED full coilovers for like 550 shipped.

    anybody got the refurbished ones???
  • If they are refurbished from the manufacturer I wouldn't worry about it, but if they are refurbished they should be offering a warranty on them still.
