To be honest with ya, I cant %100 remember. Some work on my car was done when I wasnt present. But I'm pretty sure we retained the oil pan from the DOHC when we put it in my RT.

Either way, between the two you will have one that works.
  • Yes
  • Good because the pan off the ZC I'm looking at is all f@#$ed up.
  • ZC blocks are very very close to A6 blocks. Different head bolt pattern, oil cooler, and I think that is it. Maybe more, can't quite remember. Oil pans are the same, well the bolt pattern is the same, RT's have clearance for the transfer case. Sidenote: D16A1 (86-89 Integra) pans are different, they are longer and hold more oil. But you have to use the Integ oil pump, pan, pickup. Integra stuff doesn't work on our RT's though.
  • There is a ZC for sale that has been plummed for a turbo in the pan. will need to switch my rt pan on it to replaced the one with the hole in it. Trying to figure expense for picking one up and putting it in.

Yes the DOHC ZC sump will clear the RT4WD transaxle. The flywheel cover plate needs to be the one from the RT4WD.
  • Should have my ZC at the shop within a few days :D :D :D Need an OBD0 dohc distributor though :(

I keep forgetting you Americans use imperial measurements...
  • So just make sure i got it right, my RT oil pan will fit on the dohc zc without any part swaps or mods.
  • Correct!
  • Picked up my ZC tonight :D :D 8) The guy even found the p/s pump and brackets, and also the a/c compressor and brackets :D :D Got a week to get it ready for the swap, can't wait!!! Now all i need is a distributor.
  • Anyone know if i can transfer the crank pulley from my rt over to the zc motor i have?

I'm pretty sure the D16A1 distr. works, you might have to do some searching because I think it might be some certain years. Not sure though :?
  • Ya the 88 and 89 integra dist works, anyone know about my crank pulley issue?
  • Please help if you have any info

No idea if it would work but you don't need to swap it... unless yours is damaged?
  • Mine has a huge chunk out of it!!!
  • Same as A6 right???
  • Hope so, some A6's have a smaller crank snout. Will know next week. Pressure tested the motor today. Come to find it has some high leak through, highest 85%  Guess you can never believe people  So today I tore it down, took the head apart, did a valve and seat grind. Now i need to get some valve guide seals and a new head gasket, more $$$ Also the guy i bought it from had an intake gasket on it and didn't even clean all the old paper gasket off. I swear some people are MORONS!!!! Still want to try and pick up all the parts i need and get this done next weekend, Fingers crossed.
  • Well here is the story, sat is my day to do this swap. Keep reading over my service manual to know what steps i need to take for a quick in and out. Guess i just hope all goes well!!! Will have about nine hours for the whole job  Need to swap oil pan, throttle body, and wiring. Guess i just need luck on my side :D

Side note, redid my head myself. Tested it on tues, barely any leakage :D :D
  • Got the motor in, it runs but throws a check engine light. Code 4, any ideas? idles like crap and wont rev over 3000. So now it sits at my work :( Help please

Sounds like your dizzy has a few issues. Crank angle sensor.
  • Brand new dizzy (88-89 Integra) Anymore ideas?
  • HaydzHaydz Moderator
Check wiring and ECU. Code 4 = Crank Angle Sensor which is inside those particular dizzys AFAIK.

i had the exact same issue when i went MPFI. code-4, wouldnt rev past 3000. turns out my wiring for the crank angle sensor was wrong at the ECU.

but since you have an RT, its already MPFI.. so i would say try a different dizzy.
  • Update...GOt the code to go away, damn mixed wires  Car is really sluggish off the line. Any ideas?
