Thanks everyone!! Comps are always much appreciated!!
B-series awd was a lot of work. Im in the process now of doing a writeup. That way you guys car decide for yourselves if its something you wanna tackle. Boosting the car is definatly in the plan, just a matter of time till I have the money. Also still trying to research the amount of power that people are feeding the Bseries awd stuff and keeping it reliable. Which I cant seem to find anyone who has actually pushed the limits with this setup. Im sure there has been, I just havent and cant seem to cross paths with these people.
You've inspired me! Cant wait to see the write up. It sounds like a fun wagon to drive with BSeries AWD plus Boost! I wouldnt mine making it a future project myself. Great work! Mad Props Shenrie.
awsome u plan on going to battle of the imports this summer? i want to see this thing so bad i cant wait till its boosted. do u have a problem with the crv tranny being too low geared? my wagon hits 6500rpm so fast in first gear its insane i wish i had something in here that would rev out to 7,500-8,000 and still make power to pull me a lil farther in first gear. im launching at 5,000rpm with my wagon but i may move it up to 6,000 the tranny is taking all the new power well im sure your CRV tranny will hold up to even more. please boost this thing by battle so we can race side by side at battle it would be so funny!!! good right up on the rear sway bar as well im gunna start hunting down a rear sway bar ASAP thanx
1. Did you make a mount or use an aftermarket one for the passenger side?
2. Why did you decide to use the CRV rear end instead of the Civic one?
3. Were you able to use the stock Civic shift cables (if not which ones)?
Thanks in advance. I just bought another RT4WD wagon for doing nearly this exact setup (b16 insetad of b18) and I decided to search and came across this post.
Mine will probably be FWD until I turn up a CRV transmission though.
Ya know I took the time to type out a detailed post to everyone reply and it went to hell. Thats very frustrating. Im not a fluent typist, so I cant pound out a responce very quickly. That really pisses me off.

Do you have MS Word or something like that?? You could always type it somewhere else where it won't be sent to internet hell, then when you are finished copy and paste it. Just a suggestion.

Do it for the team!
I have to agree! i would love to know all the info, interested 4 my self!
"...it was also known that the gear ratios between the Wagovan and the CR-V were different, though not by much. They were off by 1:0.004. That may not seem like much, but after a mile it was caluclated that the front wheels would travel 5280 feet while the rear wheels would travel 5300 feet, twenty feet farther than the fronts after just one mile. That would cause some serious tire wear if the Wagovan's rear differential was used with the CR-V's transmission. It was then decided that the Wagovan's differential could not be used..."
"...The Wagovan's track width is smaller than that of the CRX del Sol which is smaller than that of the CR-V. Also, the two drivelines are built to different standards. The Wagovan was built such that it could be driven with just the rear wheels without strain. The CR-V on the other hand was built such that the system acted more like a rear wheel assist to the front, inteded to carry no more than half the weight of the vehicle. Since the Wagovan's parts are as robust as they are, they will not fit the smaller, lighter duty CR-V rear differential. Options were weighed and designs were drawn up, but the parts had been purchased and could not be returned. In late June of 2006 it was decided to modify the axles that were available and use them until they failed."
I'm sure others have seen this but it did shed a little light on a few things for me.
hey man how hard would it be to do the same thing but with a d-series engine? i dont think i have the know-how or the cash to do a b-series swap haha how much total was the awd conversion?

You'd be far better off starting with an RT4WD Civic Wagon, rather than going to the hassle of converting a FWD Wagon. Its a D16A6 already and has RT4WD.
Thank you for being such a pioneer. There are so few people who can take on a task like this, i must say, great work!!!!!
I know you were tell me that you had to custom make the tranny mount. Are you thinking about selling these custom mounts, perhaps in a kit with any other hardware that would be needed and had to be custom made????
If so put me on the list of people that will definitely buy a kit
Having never driven a CR-V... How does the Shuttle original 4wd compare to the CR-V setup? Is launching much the same? Does it provide rear drive in the same way from feeling rather than a technical viewpoint.
so did the write up ever get done? searched around and didn't see any other thread done by shenrie about this. was really looking forward to reading it.
so you use a b18c1 for the block, crv awd tranny, Crv awd intermideate shaft? crv awd drive shaft and then crv awd diff and you fab the rear axles from a DA with the outer splines of a crv awd one?

DA intermediat shaft and rear stock CRV axles cut down. if funds and time are available i want to try playin with puttin the wagon rear end back in the car with and without a viscouse coupler. i dont know if its worn out but the clutch packs arent nearly as tight in the CRV rear end as the wagons viscouse. its kinda disapointing i realy hope its just worn out from all the abuse shay put it through.

So this set up is just like our rt's performance wise
just for b series correct? Cuz I read that the CRV rear dif performs only as an aid when the fronts slip. So its still not a REAL FULL TIME awd correct? Plz tell me if
I'm wrong cuz I planned on this as my setup but not sure if its worth it as just an aid
In my 2000 CRV (AWD) I can certainly launch a lot harder than I ever could in any of my FWD vehicles, and some of those were pretty high performance. In my particular case, the CRV is otherwise stock so after a part of 2nd gear it gets slow, but that's because there's no power.
I can certainly put much more power down in 1st gear. All the motor has and no spin.
ya like jaker said it definetly helps but not sporty like a subaru..... Im thinkin about pulling the GSR motor and CRV trans along with the drivetrain and swap back in the RT stuff and a Z6. unless someone buys the car or trades me a FWD thats what ill end up doing.... who knows....

Very nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the deal with the rear lower control arms and the sway bar? Did you drill the stock lca's to accept the swaybar endlinks?
**EDIT**
Nevermind, I just read your writeup about the swaybar...

I have a few questions
1. Did you make a mount or use an aftermarket one for the passenger side?
2. Why did you decide to use the CRV rear end instead of the Civic one?
3. Were you able to use the stock Civic shift cables (if not which ones)?

its cool haha i cant spell ot type well either.

So have u messed around with it at all?
Invest effort.
The answers are there.
Only for those who look!
