broke the speedo cable

anyone know where to get a new one. My buddy and I were replacing my clutch and forgot to disconnect the speedo cable. So when we dropped the transmission it ripped the cable out of the back of the gauge. I found universal cables but don't know if they will work.

you sure its broken? it could be it just popped out of place.

your local auto parts stor will carry it, last time i paid 17 bucks for it, if you have an "advance auto parts" store the definately got it.

I know that my local NAPA carries it, low 20's if I remember right.

Just had to get a new one recently. Think I paid $14.50 for an 86 wagon one at Advanced.
