B16 question

i went through 17 pages and didnt see a direct answer, so i figured id just ask real quick.

I currently have a 90 crx si, with a b16. Im tired of the crx, and am looking for a wagon.

Will my current b16a, hasport mounts, shift linkage, header (4-1 had to notch crossmember in crx) all swap right into the wagon?

And how about rear disc brakes, are the trailing arm/brake setups from the crx a direct swap?

Thanks!
When i get one (waiting for a clean one in a 500 mile radius from oklahoma city) i will post up some pics.

  • The swap will be the same as the CRX swap.
I remember when I did the LS swap i had to do a bit of notching on the crossmember as well.

As for the brakes IDK, I know you can do it but IT THINK the trailing arms are longer on the wagon.

rear disks are a custom setup only no direct fit.

As long as its a fwd wagon. AWD is a whole different story.

I read a post about the brakes, i may try to tackle it since its not my daily driver. I've only put 3k miles on my crx in 15 months. :(

And i am looking for a FWD wagon, not really wanting an awd.

    thanks!
  • Note that the Wagons do not have MPFI, so there is no wiring on the plugs for them. (Where the engine harness plugs in) You'll have to run new wire.

Yeah, i saw that. I've done an MPFI swap on a dx Crx, so it should be about the same.

    thanks!

what wire/plug are you talking about? when i did my MPFI swap i used all the DPFI plugs with the exception of the Dizzy wiring.

to add VTEC dont you just have to run 4 extra wires for VTEC, oil pressure and o2?

I am talking about the plugs that run to the ECU on the left and right side of the engine.. On the fender wells..
