Affordable way to increase compression!

this has got to be such cool idea.

All it takes is some .50 coins (or aluminum plates) and some JB weld!

  • Very interesting read
  • That is just so kick ass.

I really hope it works for the guy. Me perosnally I just see tommany balance and logevity issues, but ver cool none the less.
  • NO!

    Don't do it!

Mabey flycut the head, run a thinner head gasket. Mabey a different oem piston that you could get fairly cheap will bump the compression?
I know there' pistons that interchange with the b series engines, but not sure with the d series.

there's a lot of science that goes into the design of a head chamber. I know there's a lot of tuning done by changing chamber dimensions on 2 stroke motocycle engines. Really slight changes can cause a lot of good, and A LOT of bad results. I'm sure a lot of the same theory applies to 4 stroke engines also.
  • this has got to be the dummest thing ive ever heard! so many bad things are playing in my head right now mainly the sound of the (JBweld) letting loose! you dont just lose the pistons the head is gone too. that 4 dollors just cost you hundreds! who thinks up this stuff? this is as dumb as the audi guy that put his intake in a bag of sand to port and polish his motor! that story even made it to super steet or sport compact or one of those rags. ignorance is bliss!

honda did this with there motorcylces when they first came out. their were laws reguarding engine size and wat not and in order to meet the requirments the simply welded very small pieces of aluminum on the piston to pass that requirement. times have changed now haah
