to put the B16 in the early wagon Hasport is going to need a call for mounts and find a full fuel injection setup to convert over
  • I don't know how you're going to pull this one off.

Fuel injected models have an entirely different fuel tank, lines, pump, engine harness, body harness, etc. etc.

The only way I can think that this could even work is if you find a PGMFI 86/87 Civic Si HB complete car and try to retrofit it's fuel tank (if it will even bolt in), lengthen it's body/chassis harness, etc. etc.

This swap will end up soting you 5 times what you paid for the car, easily. My shop has done a B16A swap into a 1987 CR-X Si and the mounts, one-wire ZDYNE VTEC ECU, custom axles, etc. all added up to more than the B16A itself costs.

How much money do you have to try this swap?

Ive done this swap before a long time ago in a 85 Si glassback. HUGE PITA. Youll need to rewire everything and I mean everything, custom axles, etc... If you have the patience, go for it, but I would never do another one personally. Definalty not a cost effective swap like B18C5 said.

We used suspension crap from a 86 Integra for the front and just regular coilovers in back.
  • if you love the car do it! b-series swaps cost more then what you can buy most 88-91 wagons as well, if you can do the work your self its not the cost really its the time spent doing it, custom axles are only needed if you dont use 86-89 teg knuckles/axles. thats what ive used in the past on 3rd gens. if you love what you do, do what you will! and where theres a will theres a way.
hasport has quoted for 3rd gens do a ls is fun, scare yourself try b18c. went somthing like that, ha ha
  • I'm not aware of using stock axles of any kind when using a HASport mount kit for a B swap into the 84-87 Civic/CR-X chassis. I'll call Brian G at HASport tomorrow and see if any combo of stock axles can be used.

Hey Lucskywalker when you did this swap what mount kit did you use? I think the mounts determine the axles.
  • thanks for the info :D
  • i have about almost 4000 to do this swap

you might be right my friend, i didnt use a kit i made my own because of the simplicity of how 3rd gens mount it was kinda easy.
