What motors can bolt to a 88 rtawd transmission?

are there any sweet motor swaps that can be done and still retain AWD?
I know that the d16a1's / brown zc can bolt on a 87> tranny but what can go on a 88< tanny? AWD tranny that is.

Thanks

There are still some details/best practices being worked out on the CRV swap, but it looks promising. Keep checking back.

Pretty much any 88+ D-series is the current option. A lot of guys like the blacktop ZC. A good alternative to that would be a d16z6 or d16y8 with a cam.

this brings me to the new question, How much Power can the rtawd system handle?

around 300hp that ive seen down hear anthing more is going to grenade the diff and trans but 300hp with a built turbo setup is damn fast

Aren I a wondering why you are posting about a awd tranny, and if it relates to the super builf at RPR  Well I wont tell.. I have never heard of someone making 300 hp with a wagon with the stick drive train... But I have heard that its not hp that kills things... Its the torque that makes things break. I have heard many of times that the stock zc is about as much torque as the system can handle... But I disagree.. If you launch it, thats bad enough... but with alot of torque thats the worst... I think is can relaibly handle more torque than what the zc puts out. Also the crv tranny thing can work but you will probably be limited to a auto awd.... There were very very very very very very very very very few awd manuals made... I have only ever seen one, and it was on ebay... I have been watching for years for some.... They are very very rare... If you wanted to do something you would be better off with a modded z6 or y8 or something. good luck :P
