Well I Just Recieved Rear Foglights From Rage And I Was Wondering How To Install Them. Which Includes How To Mount Them And Wire Them. I Asked Wagodizzle To Help And Said I Should Post A New Thread So Here It Is. Any Help On How To Install Rear Foglights Feel Free To Let Me Know. Your Feedback Will Be Highly Appreciated.

SO! you want to install rear fogs to be cool like everyone else, haha. WELL first of all, if you die doing this, or your car blows up, dont come calling me. please. but now onto the hard facts...
what i did was first of all take off the rear bumper and separate the cover from the metal reinforcement.
on the back of the cover you will find a plastic tab and little plastic poky things on both sides, this is where the rear fogs have to be located. if you have brackets, then they will fit into these. if you dont, which is most likely seeing as the brackets disintegrate after a while, thats fine.
next you have to cut the holes... be very careful with this. line up JUST THE RED LENS against the bumper cover and draw the outline of it. cut that out. the hole will be considerably smalled then the fog housing is. thats good, this way you can slowly trim away as you need.. to get the fogs centered in the correct place. make sure you dont cut too much!
now onto the metal reinforcement. line up the bumper cover to the metal. mark off where the holes are to the metal. you will have to cut all of this out for the fogs to fit. so do so now.
once that is done, you are ready to permanently install the fog units. get some automotive heavy duty silicone glue type of crap.. stick in the fogs in their place and then glue from behind. be generous. after it dries install the metal part together with this. make sure to run wires first!!
on both sides of the car under the bumper there are grommet plugs. i used to drivers side for ease sakes. run the wires through this. now permanently install the bumper.
once inside, you can run your wires however you want.
hope this helps.. :? haha
EDIT: decided to add some info about the switch.
the EDM rear fog switch takes the place of the dimmer switch in all 88-91 models. JDM rear fog switches go in the lower dash, NOT replacing anything (just adding).
people with an 88-89 can relocate the dimmer switch to the lower dash (if you decide you absolutely need it) as it will pop into place on one of those block off plates.
for those with the 90-91, you know that the dimmer switch wont fit on the lower dash. if you were wondering if you can use a 88-89 switch the answer is no. the wiring is different (though the plugs are the same). i tried it and it didnt work. sorry
i've actually got one laying around here. since "JDM" is all about having only one fog :P
wagodizzle=heartbreaker
:P at least i wasted my time instead of you wasting yours
im sure it can be done. the plug themselves are the same shape and everything, it plugged right in. but the function didnt work at all.
toy with it, and let us know what happens
worst part of the whole deal...
first remove the bumper completely; take off rear mud flaps etc... then 4
bolts on the under side/ and 2 in the trunk area- i believe they are 12mm.
then unscrew all the screws that attach the cover to the support. most
likely rusty and kind of a bitch... but try to not strip the screws and or use
some vice grips...
dishes are done, bumper is off
LOL Don't Tell Mom The Babysitters Dead????
THE DISHES ARE DONE DUDE!!!! 8)
ROFL, i thought i was in the clear... i thought i was the only one
who saw "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead"....
how embarrassing for the both of us...
naw, the screenwriter is a friend of my wife's from her MFA program in L.A.
i wired mine directly to the battery :P not that best way to go but at the time (and still) i dont/didnt know better. the two wires i used were the red and red/green to get the power flowing. so i believe...
Here ya go:
Wire diagram away!
12v out<-red/green____|
12v out<-red/black ____|____red/white->12v in
ground out<-black ____|____black->ground in
Voltage out goes to the fogs
Voltage in comes from a power source (ie. fuse box)
???
red/green --> rear fog red
red/black to battery +
black from rear fog to battery -
I didn't test because that switch hardly ever goes bad because nobody ever uses them. The only people over here who use them are the retards who like to blind the people behind them and forget they are on when there is no fog. I know I have NEVER used mine in the ten years I have been here.
I found a donor car at the yard and cut the plug off for you but I can't find out where I put that thing. I will look for it again tomorrow but I make no promises.
I will try and go to another yard on Saturday if I find another switch I will get it for you but again no promises seeing as how my wife is due with the baby anyday now. I will do my best.
