Good Place to get Swaps
Draggin' Waggin'
New Wagonist
I'm saving up for a k20a swap, and I was wondering where some reputable sources for swaps are, and what all should be included in a complete swap

1st I'd like to ask why you want the K over the B, or D. What you intend to do w/ your wagon (daily, drag, etc).
Keep in mind the saving up part is going to take a while, so by the time I get the k, I'll be using it for fun
That's why I was asking the line of questions that i asked. If you are serious about racing, then you need to be serious about weight --- and if you are serious about weight, then you don't need to choose the Wagovan as your weapon of choice.
I saw that the k20a had like 220 hp so I thought to myself "I would like that"
Oh and by drag I don't mean like the track or anything, mainly just like to the next stoplight or something
I love a good tangent...
Stan Lee is given credit for this line, but he's just paraphrasing statements made by FDR, Churchill, Kipling and ultimately, the Bible.
Anyway, it should be, "With great power comes compromised fuel economy."
When I worked at Idaho Speed Center we went through this same guy for all of the swaps we sold. Out of the 5 years that I was there, we got 1 bad D-series motor and 2 bad SR20DET's. All three motors were replaced very quickly and he didnt even want the bad motors back. The only motors he couldnt get were the 22R swaps for the US based Toyotas 78ish to 95. The 2JZ swaps were kinda hard to come by as well, but when they got that really highend stuff in, they would call and let us know.
Since its not a speed shop style place, they dont take the cool shit off the motors and sell separatly like Password and other like. So if the motor you want has cams and a aftermarket ECU by chance, youll actually get those parts. I have ended up with some great shit on some of the swaps Ive received.
I hear negative stuff about every online motor ordering place Ive ever seen. I cant verify these accounts, but word of mouth goes a long way. I jsut try and stay clear of those places that Ive never done business (and heard negative things about) with or dont know someone that has done business first hand with said company and had positive things to say.
HTH.
I'm hoping the same thing
and shenrie thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. Like I said, it's a while off since I'm saving and losing weight (not car but myself).
So nobody else has done a K-swap into a EF/EE??
Trust me, I would if I had the money, and I don't think yall would accept my soul as payment either.
EF yes wagon NO there are some diffs between the wago and the hatch /rex i have yet to see someone else pull this swap off in a wagon
Ah right on, is it because of the wagon firewall angle is forward? Thats all I could think of being different. Hood would fit nice right since it comes down at more of an angle and its higher towards the windshield.
This would probably help out too:http://hasport.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=125
Hasport has their $hit together!
this is the wagon that was done @ skunk2 it wasnt easy
