well it wasent really today it was over a 3 day period. auto trans second gear took a shit so i did a manual swap on the rt with in the last few days. little trial and error... but i got it going again..i think what im going to do with the tranny mount is cut it shorter and bolt it back to gether.... so that the mount fits in right thats really the only left to do... but it drives and shift great.
sorry for the o/t.
what did you do to get the reverse lights to engage with the m/t?
haha... i havent done that part yet.... all the other stuff i did just made me want to take a break for a while... so ill keep you guys posted when i hook them up
dropped the trans with hand tools just to find that the reason my car broke down was that the previous owner didnt tighten the crank bolts on the fly wheel....
saturday i did a stock swap on my wagon and 5 speed swap. almost have everything buttoned up just need pedals instaled, or sensor conector, water temp sensor connector, a couple hoses and 2 mount's for the tranny.
was out driving the new boosted wago.....when I started to hear a clunk btwn gears. Got home and searched around, discovered the rear mount was shot. Replaced with oem mount and filled with urethane just for a bit of extra stiffness.
just decided to do a little cosmetic work and take care of the faded and chipped wiper arms
Today I took the front bumper off to paint it bumper black. When I got the bumper off there was so much dirt and grime from being driven in the rain in seattle that it was crazy. My hands were so dirty from touching anything that couldn't be washed during a normal car wash.
So I got my power washer out and blasted all the dirt off the front end behind the bumper. Then I jacked it up and cleaned everything from underneith. There was dirt clods falling out from under the car! I took an hour just moving from front to back and then jacked up the other side and did the same. I've owned this car for a year and did a pretty thorough cleaning when I bought it, I never expected so much grime!
My wife came home and was shocked at the amount of dirt on the driveway.
I installed my wink mirror since I don't have a pass. mirror...yet. And installed new hatch struts which is my favorite repair/mod so far next to ES shifter bushings.
I had a random overheat yesterday, so I pulled each sparkplug to see if any of them are gunked up from a crashing valve or cracked head. No dice. Last week I rigged a switch on the dashboard to turn the cooling fan off and on. Either the thermosensor in the radiator isnt working or its something elsewhere in the electrical. I dont have time to track it down so that was a quick fix.
Oh yeah, I rotated the wheels on friday. The front ones were getting very worn and the back ones are relatively fresh. Shoulda rotated a month ago!
oh god its so hot! I just finished installing a da radiator in my wagon but it looks like it might have a leak. Gotta investigate after I cool off a little
wasn't today but a couple of days ago.ripped out the carpet.cleaned the floor boards.took out the back panels and started to clean out the rear floor.wash and Meguiars wax by hand.took out the rear d.s tail light that had a hole in it.
