What kind of love did you give your wagon today

I'll start out was a good weekend for my wagon it got a new front bumper, hood, fender, and door to replace the dented pieces. and a bunch of parts to fix my soon to come home RTAWD. Still thinking about pulling the awd parts and converting my 2wd to AWD. or just convert to 5spd and put a LS in it

swapped out her entire exhaust system. steering rack was replaced with Si rack. no more steering wheel shake on highway. ditched the big AEM cone filter and went back to the stock air box. little less noise.

In the past week, topped off the trans fluid (it leaks :( ) and installed a passenger side mirror. It BADLY needs a wash, though. I don't mind a little dirt - it's the salt I worry about.

That'll be in a week or two - ordered a new cat-back exhaust today since mine has become "holey" Just a Bosal stock replacement, nothing fancy. I hate the way a performance exhaust sounds with an automatic transmission anyway.

funny cuz i just redid the exhaust on my RT with 2" piping. Left the cat in, (tried it without the cat, way to loud and the gas mileage went down the drain) I have to say it sounds pretty good to me. Those of you goin to the Edgefield Meet in Oregon on March 7th will be able to tell me what they think of it. (don't be to harsh on me though!!)
  • I was sick, but I finally managed to replace that hot wire. Oddly, I feel like I can tell the difference in my battery performance!

I also tightened down the vacuum pump and put the hinge pin back in the glove compartment hinge. That was surprisingly difficult, but it was really bothering me.

What?!?! I didn't know you had a slushbox; and you race that thing to!

How much did the Bosal cost and where abouts did you order from? I am trying to determine if its more cost effective for me to order one of those or make my own.
  • White&NerdyWhite&Nerdy Senior Wagonist
Yep, I'd prefer a 6-speed but the slushbox is what I found. I really never intended to autocross it - just the occasional rallyx. Though on a twisty course, I can just lock the trans into low (1st gear only). Since it's a 4-speed auto, my 1st is higher than a stick, and I can hold the gear to a fairly high speed. At the one rallyx I've done so far I ran the whole thing in 1st.

The Bosal exhaust ran me about $180, shipped, from Rock Auto. That includes the pipe, the muffler, and the 2 associated gaskets (I skipped the bolts and rubber hangers). Interesting to note that I had to scope out the cat-to-tailpipe gasket by part number - it wasn't included in their list of exhaust gaskets for the wagon.

I haven't put it on yet. I'll let you know how it goes and if it seems worth it. I received it last week, and it's all shiny and stuff. Oh, and I noticed that the Bosal muffler INCLUDES the two small drain holes that Honda forgot to put in their original exhaust. I was going to drill them myself, only to find I don't have to.

As far as love for the wagon goes, I've got rear speaker pods on the way and the Kenwood speakers from my old Miata ready to go in. Was going to put them in the "new" Miata, but I figure the wagon can get them and the Miata gets headrest speakers instead.
