^^^Thats what Im asking. What makes the sedan an Si? Motor, interior, bodypanels, etc?? Looking for chassiscode too if anyone knows it. I figured there was one, but noone has ever had any info about it. Ive seen the ef sedan fronts with the USDM style Si bumper thats very simular and the one piece headlights, hood, grill etc, but is there s different motor in that car?
I think Pacifer was jokin around. What years(88-91?) or gen are u askin about :?: There were sedans with Si motors in them even B18's(right? Pacifer.).The USDM sdn EX has a Si engine and rear disc that's as close to a Si Sedan as we'll get for now as far as 4th gen.
More the point is: can we use Civiv sedan door panels(or any other sedan panels)? On the whole SI thing, I saw what I thought was a JDM SI sedan on efhonda.com, but it could of just been a "SIed" EX sedan.
The USDM EX sedan does not come with rear disks, but it does come with the Si motor AND DA sized front rotors/calipers, which was a suprise to me, cause my Si hatch didnt even come with the bigger brakes.
I too wanna know if sedan door panels will work in the wagon though.
Thats the only car on my list that doesnt tell me what motor is in it. Can you enlighten me on which motor and mabie the frontend they use on that model???? Id really like to have the guys find me one on one of our trips to Japan.
The EF5 is a Civic Sdn,4WD(Rti) with a ZC SOHC FI for '89-91.I think you're interested in the wrap around signal lites as pictured in this link: http://www.jhpusa.com/catalog/product_i ... cts_id=311
Check around JDM importer's for this bumper. Some where on this site is a pic of a wgn w/the JDM front. It's tite. It's whitish, but later was painted drk.grey parked in front of a row of industrial park garage doorS.Other civic frts may work, but will need some modding.Something about the upper trim between the hood & bumper.
Check Pacifer's link on fnt bumpers and a pic on another JDM bumper: http://www.hondacivicwagon.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=9 Pacifer: you're homour's fine.
:? :x Found it !At the old site.I HATE  going to the old site.Al those POP UPS!!!Your JDM front on a Wagon. If she can do it so can you. http://p196.ezboard.com/fhondacivicwago ... D=87.topic
Good Luck!
Well now that I look into it, all the ef-5's that Im finding are the awd wagons with the bigass foglites and pushbars with the two tone greeen/gold paint schemes. Ive seen pix on this site before, so I know you guys know what Im talkin bout. Im wondering if this awd sedan exists.
Ive been told it exists, but Im looking at the Japanise car auctions all moring and the only cars with the ef-5 chassis codes are the wagons I described above. Not saying they dont exist, but the chassis code for the vehicle description doesnt match up.
And the front you listed is just one of the many frontends available for the 88-91 sedans. Theres at least three Ive found in addition to that one at password (but thats the best looking one Ive seen yet).
The Honda Japan site has it listed with a SOHC ZC, the same as the old motor in my EF5 Shuttle. SiWagon is correct...
Uhm... i know that they are rare but i have actually seen one with my own eyes, not that i'd be able to tell you the difference in the bumper but yeah... they do exist.
I'll try and find the honda page and translate it..
^^^ Cant search by chasis code. Basically I have to look under Civic and see what is for sale. No awd sedans yet. Guessing they must be rare in Japan too. All thats on the auction right now is one ef-9 and one ef-2 which I thought was a sedan, but its a hatch. Im finding that I dont know near as much about the chassiscodes as I thought I did, as well as what others have told me.
The chassic codes can be tough that times. Some times they cover several types of Civics e.g. HB,CRX or Sdn & Wgn.;for JDM only(or certain countries) & even in the '88-'96(4th gen) there's several codes. The other thing that may throw you is there's overlap years e.g. The '88 wgn(usdm) was already out in JPN in '87 or the EP3('02-'05 Civic Si (usdm)) was out in EU & UK in '01.JPN companies like to shake out 1st. year probs in smaller mrkts b4 going usdm('cuz we're such a large mrkt to them). The 88-91 wgn stopped production here (usdm),but still in production in other mrkts till 1996.Adding a bunch of new std & optional goodies like ABS,Cruise,PW,PL,different center console and the thus far rumored 4WD with LSD(don't know if it's Honda,Mugen or aftmrkt).
^^^Hahahaha, definatly finding this out. As I go through the auctions Im getting more and more savy, but its definatly confusing. Im seeing two differnt body styles for the 93 Integra. So they must ahve changed mid year, but I understand what your saying. Thanks for the info. Ill muddle my way to understanding them crazy Japanise characters......mabie someday anyway
Well, its called Asnet, but you need passwords to even look at the pix, so it really wont do you much good. Its all in Japanise, but if you were fluint, you might be able to view some things. I went there and looked around without passwords and I really couldnt find anything.
I really wish I could post pix of the cars you can find on there. Its very interesting. I found 2 ITR's yesterday that were slammed with TE-37's on them, the Recaro seats etc... and starting bid was around 2500 bucks. Its insane. The Japanise LOVE thier wagons too. Whenever theres 40 Integras for sale, theres 300 Oddessy wagons up for grabs. I can spend a long time on those auctions losing track of time.
Ok, I'm going to hijack this thread back almost on topic...
None of the doors from any other Civic model will fit on our Wagons? How about crossing Wagon years? Will an '88 door fit on an '87 Wagon, or vice-versa? Or, does the door have to come from the same year?
87 doors won't fit on a '88 because of diff. shape. but '88-'91(96) wagons doors will fit each other and '84-'87 dors will fit with each other. i hope i didn't confuse you.
Booootay-ful. And no confusion. I knew the '87 and the '88 were different gens, that's why I asked. I'm in the process of getting an '87, but the front passenger's door appears to be shot. It's held shut w/ bungee cords as far as I can tell. I'm not sure if it's just the lock or the entire door... are the locks pretty much interchangable? I should really post this in the security forum...
Yes, sorry for taking nthis thread off topic......but Ill do that
As far as tumblers, I know all the tumblers from 88-93 (Civics, Integras, Accord) are interchangable, but no idea on earlier or later years. Same vintage tumblers should be interchangable though.

88-91 Civic Si sedan...
I too wanna know if sedan door panels will work in the wagon though.
And yes i was just kidding around, my sense of humor is very whack... Cancerian + English + New Zealander = Seriously messed up humor. :P
According to my research there is no such thing as a 4TH Gen Si Sedan, be it JDM, USDM or whatever.
There is, however, an RTi J LM EF5 Sedan.
Also, keep in mind that a JDM Si atch/CRX has the DOHC ZC, not a D16A6 so thats why some of the things i say might sound confusing..

I just told u the 4Wd Sdn does exist. The Civic 4WD sdn was made from 89-2005(now),but not in the USDM.
And the front you listed is just one of the many frontends available for the 88-91 sedans. Theres at least three Ive found in addition to that one at password (but thats the best looking one Ive seen yet).
