knocking noises from rear suspensions (i think)

So everytime I'm slowing to a stop forward and reverse. I here a knocking sound in the rear. What might it be and how can I fix that?

    Do you have a RT4wd or 2wd? Maybe you have a broken spring in one of your drums so whenever you hit the brakes the shoes catch and clunk. NEED MORE INFO ON THE CAR PLZ!!

    pull off your drums and make sure there isn't a broken spring that holds your shoes.

    thanks for the info. I didn't take off the drum to check if the spring was broken. I'm just gonna change out the whole thing.
