Automatic to Manual Conversion Help!

I'm being offered a really good deal on an automatic 90 FWD Wagon, but I want to CONVERT IT TO MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I was wondering if anyone has already made a how to thread or if anyone could tell me everything that would have to be replaced. I plan on doing an LS swap into it. Thanks

  • It's a project I've been considering, and it seems like a lot of work. I think that if you're swapping anyway, do the cable-hydro clutch swap and get something that works better than the original cable tranny. Hasport makes a kit which should help bolt everything up. I look forward to seeing other members feedback.

Ya i have some friends that have done the cable to hydro swap, it would definitely be somethin cool to do for my daily driver. Thanks for the idea.

So has anyone else done a thread with the automatic to manual switch?

well, i can list some of the basics... like parts you need.

    -clutch cable
    -M/T pedal assembly
    -transmission (duh)
    -clutch
    -shift linkage
    -M/T ECU (i think)

for the most part this stuff is all bolt on. you might have to mess with electronics a bit... but thats for a 4th gen, not sure about the 3rd gen.

    its not that hard :P

Ya, but it just always makes you feel better when someone else has pics up and is like "Ya this is what i did" haha
But ya i was talkin bout a 4th gen, because thats what someones gonna hook me up with. So guess i'm gonna be takin this project on sometime this week.
  • I did it.. It's not that hard at all..

You'll have to change to a DA throttle cable as they are different..
