i was driving home last night on the fwy and all of a sudden my car starts bogging out like its out of gas ( oh well this has happened before just push on the gas and force it cause i still wasnt completely empty..) so
then it just cuts completely out now im just coasting at 70, i make it to the gas station and try to start it and it makes those noises
i figure its just really out of gas then fill it up a quarter tank and try to start a little bit more of a attempt on the cars part this time but still just a bad quiet poping noise

so far i established its not the fuel pump because it still primes in the second click position

its not the timing belt because the belts still firm and in place and no teeth are missing.

any input would be apprecaited thanks

  • sounds like no spark, try replacing cap and roter and the plugs

It's more likely the ignitor.Goto this link & click on the ''Ignition link''(I think 4th one down):

What u describe is exactly a ignitor prob.

^^^Agreed. Ignitor or coil. 98% of problems with these cars are in the distrubitor.
  • I would make sure the rotor didn't fall off. This has happened to me so many times even when I threadlock the little retaining screw. Another thing that happened, and I'm sure this isn't whats wrong with your car but for future reference, the plugs fouled because of oil leaking from the valvecover seals. My CRX sounded like a Subaru.
