This is how much i wanted a spare 4wd tranny

I had 2 4wd trannies 1 was blown and the other had a broken bell housing from an accident the car it was in got into. so i cut out the part of the blown tranny and welded it into the good tranny.

Sad when a 4wd tranny has to die but at least you were able to save the other trans you have.

Those are some real serious skillz you have there ma man!

Btw, when did the 4wd get into an accident. I hope I didn't forget or miss something
  • Wowsa. I can't even begin to imagine doing something like that. Fantastic work!

last year i bought a wagon from the junkyard that had been in an accident this tranny was sitting in the back seat. thanks for the props it was a lil time consuming but well worth the effort and pice of mind knowing i have a good spare now. im gunna send my other tranny (not the blow one i have a tranny that grinds as well) to gearspeed and for $900 there gunna rebuild it but that wont be till i have to use this spare tranny so who knows how long that will be. I cant take all the credit mikey did the welding which i need to learn to do someday but its so easy to just hand it over to him and he likes to show off.

Welding owns me. I have a nice wirefeed MIG and my wife spent a couple of grand on a TIG for me for christmas and it has been sitting for two years because I have nobody to really show me how to use it until just recently. So my neighbor will start teaching me how to tig stainless first, and then we are going to move into aluminum.

Great to see this kind of stuff sometimes. It breaks the norm of the usual on this forum.
