I did some searching and has anybody maintained a/c with a bseries swap in the wagon?

Pics would be nice if you got them, thanks!

I've got a B18B swap in my 1990 wagon, and it has 36-degree-blowing a/c in it. I'm using the HASport a/c bracket which accomodates either the OE Matsushita or Sanden compressor.

I've had no issues, except for ultra tight clearance for the a/c condensor fan motor. The OG Civic one didn't work when I bought the car, so I replaced it, and what a PITA it is because of the B series exhaust manifold/heatshield clearance (or lack thereof) - my replacement just died again because the fan motor wiring was too close to the exhaust manifold.

The previous owner had to even cut the factory ITR (it's a 1996 JDM spec ITR manifold with 2.5'' downpipe) heat shield lower section off because it literally would not even clear the condensor fan motor - it still looks OE clean. a header might make more or less room depending on its design.

I just replaced the OE style fan motor and shroud with an aftermarket Hayden/Imperial slim 8'' fan for $64.00 and it fits much better. I cut the OE plug of and soldiered the connector so it looks OE. The fan moives a bit less air, but the 36 degree a/c sitting still lets me know it's working well enough.

Agreed! im looking to do a b18a1 in mine but im not worried about the a/c cause im planing on putting a turbo on mine.
  • NICE swap!! Those pics are exactly what I was looking for.

I'm going to be using an EG radiator and slim fans so it won't be as tight in that area.

As for turbo, I too will be boosting but w/ A/c, I got a few tricks up my sleeve...
