MPFI Conversion

Hi... Getting all of my parts together. Can a guy use the intake and throttle body off of a 92-95 D15 DX motor? Having some trouble finding an A6 at the moment.

Also, would the obd0 injectors from from a CRX HF work?

not sure on the d15 manifold. i have an a6 intake manifold pm me if interested. the injectors should work they are mpfi and require a resistor box.

the 5th gen manifold bolts in, but its got OBD-1 sensors. the injectors will work from the HF.

Are those mugen power chips that disable the knock sensor worth intalling in the PM6?

    i don't think so.

well, my buddy found one and I went and took it off today. It was costly but I got everything I'll need except the distributer, distributer plug, and ECU. I mean I got it all, even the fuel filter and throttle cable and all. Set me back $100 but he threw in a window regulator with it.

Another quick question, I was thinking I should go back to the A6 for the cam. It was in a 88 AWD wagon, would it be same as the SI cam that's often swaped into the D15?

I'm not really sure it would be worth putting it into a motor with the high mileage and all but might be worth keeping around for future use.

Also, I see a lot of dpfi-mpfi instuctions online. They all seem to be missing the vacume and wiring for that thing on the firewall. Anybody have a lead on that?

Hello. You can use the obd1 manifold without any mods. I have an obd1 motor with obd0 harness. It works. For injectors you can use the HF with a resistor box or you can use the obd1 injecotrs WITHOUT the resistor box. Why are you asking about the knock sensor? You do not have a knock sensor on a d-series. For the thingy on the wall that is a map sensor. It connects to the throttle body. As for the A6 cam you can do it but make sure you get the correct cam gear for it. You should use a cam gear for a 99 civic EX. The d16y8 motor. It gives the correct timing. Most DPFI-MPFI instructions are correct. I highly suggest to de-pin the connections and solder then heat-shrink it. Any problems let us know. We are here to help.

*EDIT* I bought the y8 cam gear from my dealer for about $8 usd

I'm still in the process of getting my parts together. I got the complete manifold off an A6 instead of the newer model. I noticed the map sensor was different from my car so I snagged it too. I also got the whole set-up for the injectiors and the resistor box. Just need a dizzy, plug, and ecu and should be able to get started.

I don't think I'm going the cam route. The engine I have is close to 200k so I think the plan is going to be swapping the MPFI and then getting a newer fresher motor. No real plans on the motor yet, I'll probably just keep an eye out for a good deal be it a Z6 D15 or whatever comes along before I need it.
