For those of you who have done the b swap here on the board, if you have any good info or articles, personal experience you can offer up throw em out here.

I myself will try to do one as well but I am still getting the pieces to come together and I am trying not to freak out but like I said if anyone here performed the swap chime in at least to let it be known!!!!!

    I would like to know.
I now have a 90 CRX DX with a JDM B16 swap and am looking for a 2wd wagon to swap everything over too and boost in the future. I need a fun car that can carry people camping and to the mt. bike trails.
Any thoughts on this swap... as far as I can tell, it will be an easy swap since I have the place racing mounts, B series shift linkage, and the wireing done in the CRX. (the DX converted to run the OBD-0 B16 will plug and play in an 88-91 wagon correct?)
I have been searching aroung here, but have not really found a b series swap write up that will answer my Q's.
Is everything exactly the same as doing a b swap into an EF (88-91 Civic/CRX)??
    Thanks All!!
    Hank

p.s. What is the weight for the 89 2wd wagons?
Will a B16 w/ GSR cams have enough power/Tq to make this a fun car? I have a high compression LS block that I can use, (LS/VTEC) but it needs rings, and will have to change it out AGAIN when I have the $$ for a Turbo set up... Any sugestions.

as far as a B-series swap which im gonna do it myself after i finish my engine

if your doin a GSR swap you need:
    the engine B18c
cable tranny (GSR starter would fit)
90-93 clutch (GSR flywheel would be fine)
    Hasport mounts
    Hasport linkage
half shaft and axles off a 90-93 integra
obd0-obd1 engine harness and dizzy conversion (DIY posted on wagon links)
    obd0-obd1 ecu harness
    obd1 ecu

So it is EXACTLY the same as any other 88-91 Civic swap then?
It seems like it, but I have not found any definate answers...
Im just checking before I get myself an EE to swap my B16 in to =)

search the site a bit more, you woulda found your answer if you scrolled down more. i just read the four page thread on it so i could answer this for you

but to save you the time, it isnt exactly the same as an EF swap, but similar. you're going to run into wiring and a bit more fabrication for the wagon. remember, the wagon is simlar, but not the same.

I have searched the site a few times, and cant find the answers I am looking for...
Can you please give me a link to the 4 page swap topic you were talking about?
I really need to know the differences in the 89 EE vs. my 90 DX CRX before I travel to pick this EE up. (the B16 swap is in the CRX now all wired up. I was hopeing I could just swap everything from the CRX to the wagon. wire harness, place racing mount kit, shift linkage ect...)
    Thanks!!

If your wagon is FWD then the swap should be the same. No cutting and if there is any wiring, theres very very little.

That is what I was waiting to hear!
My CRX is a DX, so the wireing has already been redone to accomidate the MPFI as well as VTEC (oil press, knock sensor blah blah blah...).
All the things that would need to be taken care of with the duel point non vtec Fwd wagon... SWEEEET!
    Thanks again for the info!
I may be on here all the time starting next week. (when I pick up my 89)
    CHEERS!

  • Frank and you did not ask me for info....why ? I'll wrap some links together for you guys in a bit. I really wanted to put together a video over a time lapse camera, anyone interested in working with me ?

Thanks. I have done a few EF b swaps, I just was not sure if there were any differences with swapping a b into the EE.

ooh, I should have. This was an old topic but at least the links you posted should help. I wonder what it would be like to install a 4wd b swap. I've got almost everything to do it with. I need to do some measurements though :x

Thanks, the site is hybrids.jp...essentially it's where everyone went when the honda-perf.org family was torn up. We kept half of the original owners, and all the members. They kept all the swap and tech articles though =(. And yeah, the wagon likes Sapporo about as much as I do.

Here the link to my FS post: http://www.hondacivicwagon.com/board/vi ... .php?t=601
