no problem at all lines line up also?
  • wagodizzlewagodizzle Council Member and EDM expert
    yep, everything does.

brake lines and balljoints all line up.

obviously, you have to use DA calipers and rotors and pads when using DA knuckles (derr) :)

if you ever dont have something to do with a paycheck shoot me a PM
    anyways,
rears are a different kettle of fish.
  • ok i understand that DA knuckles are direct bolt-on coz everything lined up. are DA and EF have the same knuckle height? can i use the wagon axles to the DA spindles?

thanks in advanced. more power...........wagon 4ever

Yes the wagon axles will work just fine with the DA knuckles. Double check the spline count though. Some of the DX/LX civics have a smaller outter spline count. Not positive, but I think it was jsut the 88's though.

i heard they mess up the alignment... so when you are done do the front alignment again. im planning to do the ex swap knuckles. will the DA calipers work on her since the rotors are the same size?
  • thanks for the info. i will surely double check coz my waggy is an 88rt4wd.
if somebody out there knows for sure pls chime in and let me know coz its hard to look for a 88 EX.

I don't believe there are any 88 Ex's, you need to find 90-91 and the 90-91 will bolt up no problem at all. Integ knuckles will throw your camber off to the positive side but thats fixable by doing an alignment.
  • shenrieshenrie Council Member
^^^I think hes right. I have only personally seen 2-3 EX's and they were all 90-91's.

And yes, whenever you change out suspension, its a good idea to recheck the alignment.
  • thanks for the info. ill keep that in mind. ill try to look for that 90-91 ex knuckles this weekend.

wait .... if i used an teggy knuckles it will put it in positive camber. and if i lower it it might correct that. hmmmm interesting..... anyhow i got a camber kit for the front (vison- idk if this is a good brand got it from ebay)

    thanks again....wagon 4ever

those integ knuckles will have more positive camber than lowering the car will fix.
  • ok thanks again. ill just correct it with front camber kit
  • DA knuckles do in fact throw the camber towards the positive side when compared to stock USDM 88-91 Civic knuckles. Whether or not you'll need any camber kit to correct this will remain to be seen once you get the car on an alignment rack, and of course depending on your car's ride height.

Also someone earlier mentioned an alignment "fixing" the camber, but you can't adjust camber without an adjustable camber kit.

I strongly suggest Skunk2's new EF/DA specific front upper control arm camber kits. I have them on my lowered wagon and my tires wear perfectly, and the compact design doesn't smash into the fender wells like other older kits do.

BTW I've got DA front knuckles/brakes too.
  • wow.... you got a tight wagon there bud.

saw the camber kit and im jealos. i got vison works and i hope it does work too.

    whats your coilover?

Eibach Pro Street for the regular EF sedan/hatchback.

They are amazing as a daily driver, softer rate set-up, but they would suck for auto-X because they're too soft for true motorsports usage IMO.

At that ride height it rides so smooth it's ridiculous.

will the calipers from a da (90 93) will fit in an ex knuckles? the rotor is 10.3" diameter for an ex
  • hello there

just got back from the junk yard and got myself a DC knuckles. (its hard to find a DA with knuckle on it). somebody told me that the DC and DA knuckles are the same. It might be true but my main concern is the spline.

anybody who have done this or may have the experience and wisdom? please let me know. i wanna put it in tomorrow. the reason being that my stock brakes sucks. by the way im on a 15/16 mc's so im ready for bigger rotors

thank you in advance my fellow wagonist.

    wagon ever................. :D
  • wazzup my fellow wagonist

i exchanges the DC knuckles with DA knuckles today. i just wanna make sure that i wont have any alignment issues coz i believe no one has tried this before. Did my research and found that people have done this so this the route im goin to take.

I was also tying to find out if there is a diiference with the spline count. i have an 88rt4wd.

anybody who knows about this? please share your thoughts.

    thanks again.

  • i just installed my da knuckles with dc brakes. the install gave good results. my vision camber kit didnt exactly correct the neg camber from the lowering spring. i need to raise it up just a little bit coz the wheels is almost gonna tuck in the fender wheels.

ill try to get some coilovers this weekend

    happy weekend everyone

  • Hey ricefighter, will you do a list of parts and write-up on that DA/DC brake setup?? Thanks in advance :D
  • hey wazzup?

ok here are the parts i used for my brake upgarde

    DA knuckles
DC rotors and calipers (bolt in to DA knuckles)
Camber kit ( my brand is VISION but i suggest skunk2)

I installed the caliper and rotor into the DA knuckles with ease. my waggy is 88rt4wd and i didnt have any axle spline issues.

i also installed a matrix lowering spring and it almost slammed the fronts. the vision camber kit didnt correct negative camber thats why i suggest skunk2. other than that everythings ok.

thats all i can think of, of my upgrades. ill do the rear later coz its gonna be a hard work.

just let me know it you have more questions.

    happy weekend

by the way B18c5 whats your tire size? im using 17's and im thinking goin 16's to get a little bit of tire meat.
  • shenrieshenrie Council Member
Ive put the JDM ITR 4x114 kunckles on an ef chassis before with good results. It provides even more positive camber than the DA knuckles. Perfect if all you do is daily.

We actually used the JDM ITR knuckles (with all the brake shit) and springs on a white hatch with the 1st gen ITR wheels and it looked perfect from the word go. A quick alignment and the car was within factory specs. Really made me want the car, lol.
  • by the way B18c5 whats your tire size? im using 17's and im thinking goin 16's to get a little bit of tire meat.

I actually run 15'' wheels with 195/50/15 tires.
  • First quesiton.
Is DA any second generation integra?

If so I've got a bad wheel bearing in my 91' wagon. I've got a friend with a gen2 integra parts car with brakes, knuckles.
My brakes could use an upgrade. I figured I'd try new pads, brake lines etc. but from the sounds of this I may have exactly what I need to take care of my wheel bearing problem, and upgrade the brakes at the same time.

Is it really just that easy? Is there anything else I need to grab off the donar car other than knuckles, rotors, calipers, pads?

naa dude, that should be all you need.
  • damn... this info just made my day!
    :D

Uh oh... one more question. Will this work with 14" wheels? integra wheels, I'm guessing they will integra wheels should work on integra suspension.
