brake pedal falling to the floor..

When I drive, and I hit the pedal, sometimes it will fall quickly to the floor and one of the front wheels will lock up until I let off the pedal...

Would I need to replace the master cylinder? It does the same in the rear at times also.I haven't opened the brakes up, so I don't think bleeding them would help

    x2, happened to me.

buy a new master cylinder, replace the old one, fill it up with fluid, bleed out the brakes, then replace the fluid again and you're good to go!

It's most likely to be the brake master cylinder, but nobody can say for sure without actrually pulling the wheels off and checking the lines, calipers, and rear wheel cylinders for brake fluid leaks as well.

An easy indicator of a bad brake master cylinder is seeing any fluid or peeling paint on the brake booster - if you've got that then you need a master cylinder, but that's not to say other issues couldn't also be contributing to the low pedal as well.
