D16Y7 head verses D16Z6 block

Hi guys,

Are these different ?

I sold a D16Z6 block end to a guy who is trying to stick his D16Y7 head on to it and saying that the exhaust side bolts do not reach the threads!

Are the exhaust side threads lower in the block on the D16Y7 than the D16Z6 ?

It seems the D16Y7 bolts are all the same length as the D16Z6 bolts!

It was sold as seen (ie: he never asked me if it'd work), just tying to help the guy out.

    I know that the d16y8 bolts are different so the y7 bolts probably are as well. I'm not sure what he needs, but I do know that ARP makes at least 2 different head bolt kits for the d-series because of differing lengths on a couple of the bolts.

    D15B/Z are the same for the most part, D16Y is usually where they differ.

    I think he's accepted that he's screwed, now looking for a D16Z6 head to go with it. :lol:
