Band Wagon
Hey guys, I have been browsing the site for a little while my friend B18c5-eh2 turned me on to the site. Well I just got a wagon yesterday from shop, its a 91 awd model. I have a high compression built engine going in soon and I plan on leaving it auto. The wheels are staying, I acturally just got new tires for it today. Just your basic Kumho 185 65 14s. I am planning on leaving the suspension alone and going with more of a rally theme. There are a few shots of when I bought it and how absolutely nasty the interior was. And there are some more recent ones. Oh and the car is going to be repainted as soon as the engine stuff is sorted. I also own a 00 civic hatchback so there are a couple of pics of that as well.
And here are some after the 3 hour clean up. I have never spent so many quarters on a vacume before.
And here are some of my hatch.
Im sure I will be posting up more pictures of the progress that I am making on the car.
Also I am looking for some rear head rests in blue of course, and also some rear tail lights, if anyone has some they are willing to part with let me know.

love your hatch too 8)
Luckily the car wash was dead, so we took out the front and rear seats and went to town on that carpet.
Yesterday he got some new tires, we replaced the distributor (the old one was causing the tach to jump and the engine to stumble under acceleration) and today the wago gets a new valvecover gasket and a proper 4-wheel alignment.
The engine going into it is a D16A6 that I personally built for my own EF hatchy a few years ago. It's an 11:1CR engine achieved with 1989 Integra "P29" pistons, 96-00 Civic EX metal head gasket (thinner than stock A6 fiber gasket) and I put all new OE Honda everything in it - pistons, rings, rod and main bearings, belts, waterpump, head gasket, valvestem seals, etc. etc.
Combined with the close ratio 5-speed Si/ZC tranny I built it would literally beat ass on B18A/B swapped Civics, and even ran dead even with a few B16A swaps such as my wife's 143whp B16A2 in her 1992 Si HB back in the day.
It might not be "swap beating" with the auto tranny attached, but it will still be pretty quick for sure.
We'll get this wagon looking and running better than new. I'm sure we'll have some questions along the way for you guys here.
The funny thing about this wagon is that we've been looking all over GA for one, found a few that needed a lot of work (lots of rust damage) and then this blue 4Wd was found literally 2 minutes from Daniel's house at a shady crap "repair" shop.
I'm sure Daniel will be posting more update shots soon. Hopefully we'll get that engine in the car within a few weeks.
Keep me in mind if you seen another!
I notice you have the oem cargo cover brackets. I didnt think the cargo cover could be used with the speaker pods.
No, but I am looking for some rear head rests.
Thanks for the kind words, The car will be getting paint soon. And the swap will be going in real soon. The hardest part for me is realizing that parts for it arent as easy to come by as they are for the EK.
pm me.
I've not noticed the front bumper hanging - kind of looks that way in the side view pics, but it's not.
I'll be sure to take a really close look at it today.
but wait...this isn't your thread is it...?
Let's see an artysy fartsy pic with the matching tires, and new muff action.
No it's not, but he's my best friend and I see the car almost daily. His wagon was due to come into our shop the day I posted that, so I figured I'd get a better look then.
i already tried, he won't come off the pods. :?
The rear headrests are a factory item, standard on every Civic wagon DX and RT4WD - simply find a blue or white junker, and the headrests will be there 90% of the time.
The speaker pods? Well guys you know how rare the speaker pods are, right? He is a new wagon owner, but he knows a decent amount about them already, especially since I've been hunting them down for a while now.
I know where a FREE white wagon is that a co-worker of mine had three hours away from where we live that has good blue interior - it's just a matter of taking a trailer down there and hauling it back.
Daniel we'll find you some headrests.
Not a really good update I know just a couple of things I picked up today and the last couple of days. Thought I would post an update. The update is the exhaust, tires, speakers in the pods, and the rear seat latches, and various stickers. Enjoy. Better pictures and better photoshoot is comming soon.
I'll answer for him since he won't be back on any time tonight probably (time with his lady y0!) , or not until way late. I think I'm "authorized" to help answer any Q's since he's my bro and all.
The paint is actually pretty poopy on the tops - it will get repainted by a shop that painted my EG, and if it turns out like my EG did then it will be crazy nice and clean - nicer than my grey wagon.
The sticker was ordered at the local Honda dealership, and he asked for a CR-V Reatime sticker - I'm sure any 97-02 would be fine.
Hope that helps.
how much does that shop charge for a complete respray?
