engine swap

Well, My shuttle doesn't drive very well anymore, blown headgasket.
The original engine was a D16a6 (Rt4WD), but I have a D15B2 lying around that I could swap for a cheap solution.... But will it fit?

I guess the engine itself is no problem, electrical and all, transmission from RT4WD will bolt on I guess, but what about the driveshafts? I heard somewhere the intermediate shaft won't fit ? (d15b2 had two shafts of different lenght...)

What if I wont be able to bolt on the internediate shaft? Can I use the D15b2 shafts of unequal lenght on mu RT4WD transmission?

thanks!

hey, the D15B2 will bolt up, but its a downgrade from the D16A6.

not too sure about the halfshafts though.

I know it's a downgrade, but I can't find a decent d16 anywhere. So I just want to have it running so I can sell it more easily...

    Anyone knows about de driveshafts?
  • Have you tried looking here in GErmany? I have found quite a few d16's over here.
  • Can find you quite a few D16A6's in the UK as well. It's only a short trip!!

I can find a9 or z5, but they all use a lot of oil. And I don't want that. I can find good ones, but they would go over budget. I have no budget since I want to sell the car immediately after I can drive it again. So I want the cheapest possible solution... :)
  • It is too bad you live far away as I would be very interested in buying your car or I have an extra d16 motor that you could pick up after I rip it out of the wagon. however distance will be a problem.
  • You aint that far, surely ?

You mean the engines you know of use a lot of oil right ?

Where exactly are you in the Netherlands. I know of a truck driver who is frequently in the UK and travels from Slovenia. He's taken back body parts (inc a repro mugen kit) for Hondas in the past.
    Engine is a possibility...

I forgot. I've got a D16A6 sat in a shuttle I'm breaking with a friend.
