hi guys, i have a 90 rt4wd wagon (d16a6 engine w/ just 100,000 miles on it) and i want to turbocharge it and try to get up to 250 HP w the stock engine. i would like to know what parts of the engine should i change in order that the engine wont blow up. i know i have to tune it really well but right now i want first to upgrade everything on it so it can handle that power. thanks

Vitara pistons will drop your compression which is better for boost but that alone may not bring you to 250hp, dont forget they are cast pistons not forged.
Stronger rods are needed imo, rods bolts too either way!
A head gasket is a no brainer and may help drop compression or ? as need be depending on thickness. To calculate your comp. www.zealautowerks.com (lol, i hope its still around)
Head studs are again imo necessary since you're boosting. I've went with the equation of aftermarket headgasket, aftermarket headstuds. Again opinion, its what worked for me.
Also investigate turbochargers, TurboTeg is a d series turbo master here on HondaCivicWagon.com, good guy to PM & talk to for 1st hand info.
His You Tube in-car videos of 1/4 mile runs are badass.
HF manifold is o k to get you by but your best bet is to have a good breating tubular manifold to help escape heat and increase your turbo efficiency, i.e. spooling, lower egts, lower turbo temps=longer life. I am only saying this because of the text messages we've had. HF is not a long term choice, I think they're restrictive.
Bob's manifolds are worth the money and he stands by em. The guy is like 15 min from my house, they're nice pieces in-person. No Ebay China crap here, good stuff. Custom just for your application.
As an fyi, you may want to consider an upgraded valvetrain & head too.
Sry, i'm @ work wish I could elaborate more.
:?: Is he on here ?

no turbo-teg is some turbo guru out west, RC guy is in Chi-Town
very old pic from my member ride thread but you get the idea, sorry its kind of a shameless plug  lol
Basically, this combo has worked well for me but all I can suggest is talk to our community and do some research.
