Info on steelies...

hey guys, i just picked up a really fun wagovan from superhatch. yesterday i took off the front rim to check out suspension and brake pad wear. when i picked up the black steelies that are on it i couldnt believe how heavy they were for 15s. they have 205/50/15 size tires on them i have a couple of questions. first, i searched around and havent been able to find specs on the steelies like weight and exact size. are they 15x6.5?

also, i havent been able to find a comprehensive list of honda oem rims with weights. what i'd like to do is find some oem honda 15s that i could fit some 205/50/15 and have them be lighter then what i have on them now. of course, the lighter the better but price is big on the list also... any help would be cool... thanks

    i believe they are 15x6.5

as far as different OEM honda steelies in 15 inch size, in pretty sure Honda use the same one throughout their model line.

you could always down-size to 14s. they look the same as the 15s.

thanks i havent thought about 14s. as long as they fit i would be ok with that.

although, wouldnt that mess with the speedometer?

i quess i have to look into 14s also...

well the original wheels on the wagovan were 13's with 175/70/13 rubber

if you get 14s with say 185/60/14 you should be pretty close to the stock speedometer reading and all that good stuff.

my friend has OEM Honda 14s on 185/60/14 rubber.

like i said 14s and 15s look the same ;)

    click this link:
    http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

enter 175/70-13 into the "stock size" box.

cut and paste the following string into the "tires to compare" box

    185/70-13,195/60-14,195/50-15,195/55-15,205/50-15,205/40-16,205/45-16,195/45-16

I seriously think they look like 15" Saturn OEM steelies.

    Your car:

    My previous car:

(Those are center caps from OEM alloys that happened to fit over the hub and lug nuts to keep them out of the weather, and give it a "cop car" look. )

naw those are quite different, i can tell saturn steelies apart (they have a more "flattened" part where the vent holes are).. it looks like yonwd has integra steelies or post-EK Civic steels..etc. but they are Honda fo sho.

i probably wont sell them even if i get something else cause i'd like to have them for the winter... sorry...

They all look the same to me... Never mind!

A guy I knew used to run Saturn 15" alloys on his CRX for street tires. R-compounds on stock CRX wheels for autocross. :) So I know they'll swap. I'll be using my old Saturn 15" alloys on my gf's CRX for autocross this year.
