Ah, thanks man. I appreciate that. Having a few people mention thicker fluid to help with the whining. I'm running Penzoil Synchromesh right now. Feel free to chime in anyone.
Had a friend who has worked with a lot of fwd other than Honda's and built transmissions say it seems a lock nut that is usually on top of what is 5th gear can cause the same noise when it's been over-torqued. Going to be doing more trouble shooting this week. Wish me luck.
Oh yea, turns out that axle was a mess up. Got the right one today, gonna change that hopefully this week.
As much as I hate to, I'm going to try and find a way to pull and swap my old trans in before IA next Friday morning. lol I'm just going to have it rebuilt with new bearings and synchros, then I won't have to worry about shit. lol Swapped my replacement dizzy on today, what are the odds I happened to install it and the timing was actually already set? LOL
So I drove my car the farthest in one drive today to and from my work. 50ish miles round trip. After work I went down to Mazmart and we got to work pulling it. We got started around 630-7 and when I drained the fluid it looked like it had glitter in it. YAY! Anyways, without pulling the case apart it seems to have a bearing that was coming apart. So we go the old LS tranny back in and left the CC stage 2 and the flywheel in with it. It drives good so far and I'm going in for my alignment tomorrow at 8am. From there it's getting on the road!
Yup. That's a friend of ours. lil'ghost is my girlfriend and my passenger up there was the one that took the shots. So we switched cars to get both. lol I swapped my old trans back in. Apparently it had 280,000 miles on it when I got it from the previous owner/friend who built the 'built' tranny. So it's sitting at around 305k on the LS trans in it right now. lolol
Eh, I ended up changing suspension setups. I got the Skunk2 sport shocks with sleeves and springs and then ended up running new stock rear shocks. I initially planned on GC/Eibach/Koni though. My girlfriends wagon (lilghost) runs replacement stock shocks and GC/Eibachs. I prefer my ride to hers though, it's a lot better and I'm lower.
On another note, happened to mention I was bored with my wheels in a thread on another forum with the recent pictures and a guy offered to buy them at my ridiculous asking price this weekend. (wasn't trying to sell them at the moment) LOL So hopefully some 16x9's will be in my future.
I kinda always assumed you hated those wheels or I would have let you know I was considering getting rid of them. Never heard back, but did you sell the white wagon?
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Buyer flaked on the wheels. I think I might just retire them to my shed and buy a new set instead of buying another car. lol Not sure just yet, we'll see.
Might be hard to tell in the photo, but I lowered the front end about a 1/4 of an inch again. I did an oil change, so I took her for a wash afterwards.

Just some pictures from the day.
Also glad to hear your trans lasted for your roadtrip.
Some are repetitive, but fuck it. Enjoy.
Are you going to get some koni yellows/tokico illuminas/AGXs to pair with em?

I have agreed to sell the white car- have to put a transmission in it first, though.
