Hey, Rev. If that glider is in good shape, I know there are some electric car guys who'd like to buy it. Put it up on eBay, The EV Tradin' Post, or diyelectriccar.com and you'll probably get a quick sale.
glider= unpowered craft...he's talking about the shell. I'm familiar with the term as it relates to trucks. You can buy a 'glider kit' which is basically a brand new truck with no engine, transmission, or rear axles. It used to be more common than it is now, but there's a resurgence as owners try to dodge the new emission regs.
Took the block and head to a machine shop to make sure they're both flat...they are Brought it back home , degreased and gave it a coat of SteelIt. Now we're just waiting on parts.
Damn man, did some work! I thought you'd be busy with the ride. lol
Going to get a flange tomorrow. He wanted $90 more for the whole cat. lol But he said it'd be the header side. Charlie is going to bring the GSR mani to me tomorrow at the V!
Let me know if you want me to drop my car off so you can use the harness. Thanks a lot man. I'll come out there Friday and Sunday night so I can lend a hand.
A little more progress, got the oil pump and rear main seal and pan on, then flipped 'er over and did the head and cams. Got stopped by this:
got the wrong water pump...no wonder the timing belt wouldn't fit! Both of the other LS motors sitting here have 19 tooth pumps so was the one off of this engine. The replacement I got has 22T. wtf? We'll figure it out tomorrow.
lookin good my friend! i have total respect for people who take the time to detail the block i hate when swaps are just thrown in, lookin like it was a boat ancor!

# Transmission: 92-93: YS1, cable"
Taken from wiki, safe to say I can order a 92-93 clutch?

Rev came up today and prepped a bunch of stuff.
I like his style: no flash here
A very familiar color to me, Cummins beige In fact, this was the OE color on B-series Cummins engines
LOVE THIS COLOR REV!!! ITS GOING TO LOOK SO SICK!!!
youre gonna owe bam bam a shit load of beers...
This one will be tight and quiet...all the tolerances are on the good end of the acceptable range
Had to enlist SWMBO again, fingernails work well to remove Plastigage from journals
Now it's a short block, got called in for dinner @ 10:15

Pulled out the trusty d
Should be able to set the new engine in there tomorrow 8)
hats off to both you and Trev (and Pebbles of course)
Pics from the last couple of days:
I decide to cut the front mount off. Didn't do mine and it looks like ass
Went ahead and did the "bottle cage bolt mod" while it was easily accessible
...and tightened up the FITV (cleaned the EACV too.)
and made a big ol' mess with wiring harnesses :P
Would've had it in the car, but found out the clutch release bearing spring was FUBAR. Hopefully I can get one from the stealership manana.
