there prolly arent any 17's that will fit "perfectly" hehehe, but they'll still work, of course. 42 offset should be good. your main issue is going to be rubbing. how low is your car? you might wanna look into getting 40-ratio rubber AT THE MOST.

    i'll stop talking.
  • The thickness of the hub can be a problem too (on the wheel). Some rims have a thicker inner hub that will sometimes rub the inside of the caliper. My Borbets have this problem.

thanks guys.... actually i have that problem now w my rims... they inside rub the calipers so i had to change the studs and the bad part is that spacers did not fit perfectly, the spacers rub a little the calipers, i do not know y because i asked the speed shop and thats the smallest one they had so they sold me like rings to put on each stud, i have to use 3 rings on each stud in order to separate the caliper and the rims' hub.... any ideas... whats the right rim hub for the 4wd wagon...

and sorry yeah my car is not lowered at all...
  • Just go out and measure from the center of the hub to the edge of the caliper. Double that and you will have an approximation of what the hub diameter can be on the wheel.

cool... does that affect the offset? and do u think the sellers ( the ones online will know the wheels' hub diameter? thanks man..... did u get the headers yet?
  • Write Enkei and see if they can help you out.

Shipping takes a little bit to get here but I will let you know as soon as I get them.

cool lol the funniest part i went to their website and there is no f&*&^in email. just phone numbers but the closest one i think is the one in FL.... im gonna look around to find there email or place where they sell them around my area.. thanks..... how did ur friend fix the problem w the rim and calipers thanks
  • I had the problem with the rims, actually two sets of rims. The one set wasn't that bad so after a day of driving it stopped grinding

The second set was worse because the car wouldn't even move. I didn't know what the problem was so I gassed it and it started to move. I got about 20 feet and stopped the car and saw the aluminum shavings and knew that I was having the same damn problem again. I am pretty sure I could have shaved a little more off with the caliper but it was just easier to change the wheels out again then ruin something. It helps when you have like 10 sets laying around

I am sure I could find a shop that could take a little metal off the inside but I would rather just buy another set of rims to add to the collection.

lol where those 17" inches rims too.... lol i wish i had that money in order to buy rims and try them lol..... how much do u think mech people will charge to shave a little bit of the caliper so at least my rims will fit on my wagon right w no rings or spacers
  • I was talking about taking metal off of the rim itself. I would just be worried if it isn't done right the balance could be thrown off. I would think if the 17's wouldn't fit that maybe a smaller rim would.

Find you an Enkei dealer and see if they can help you out with which wheel will fit. I think this is your only alternative at the moment. Maybe see if somebody on Ebay is selling that style Enkei and write to them.

ummm.... yeah probably i would go 16 since is harder to get 17s to fit anyways i will have more rubber so is good for the snow too... i went to a website and this is the description:
Vehicle Selected: 1990 HONDA CIVIC [Start a New Search]
    Factory Tire Size: 175/65-14 | Factory Bolt Pattern: 4x100 | Hub: 56.1 | Offset: HIGH | Lug: 12x1.5

so i just goin to email enkei or actually call them if the rim will fit.... if it does i might buy them for the spring summer and fall time and on winter i will buy like 15 inchs rims or prob 16 rims....where did u go to cut part of the rim??
