What turbo?

Soo, i have a D15B VTEC which is going into a 670KG Honda City. And i'm going to turbo it.

What i would like to know is what is a suitable turbo? It needs to be incredibly responsive - i.e. making full boost from 3k-7k.

I'm a complete turbo noobian but does T25 sound about right?

The car will have a small intercooler to help reduce lag.

    naw, you need a T88.
  • The t25 is a good small turbo that spools very quickly. I have one on my CA18det in my S13. For a small car like yours I think it would be a very good fit. You could also go for the IHI turbos which are smaller. This will be the one I will be running on the wagon here soon.

T25 and the IHI are both very cheap to get and quite a few cars run them.

i loved my t3 42/48 AR fully spooled at 3grand on a d16a but it did kinda leave u wanting more high end.
  • I'd pull a T25 from a 200SX S13 or possibly a T28 from a s14a.
Try the T25 first, but I suspect you'll want more boost later.
It should spool pretty fast on a D.

The B16 will spool up a Pulsar GTiR T28 which is bigger than the S14's at about 1500rpm.
Not bad comparing a 1.6 to a 2L Nissan

+1 for turbo_teg. From my research, the T5 and IHI's cut out at around 6 grand but get full spool somewhere between 2 and 3 grand. The T3 will reach full spool at about 3 as well but should pull a little more in the higher rpms.
