AWD wagon will not go into 2wd mode

I broke another U-joint on the driveshaft going to the viscous coupler so the wagon has some crazy vibrations.

So, I attempted to flip the switch that puts it into 2wd.

I had to fight the switch quite a bit....it kept wanting to push back into 4wd. Finally moved it over and tigthened down the 10 mm. Go into the car, let the clutch out......no gears!!! Just stayed in neutral. It also made some noises when I let the clutch out in second gear....but still the car wouldn't move.

I had to put it back into 4wd mode...but the car is virtually undriveable until the rear driveshaft is replaced.

Help!!

    when you switch it into 2WD mode try rolling the car back and forth till you can feel it "pop" or engage, then hopefully it will work.

    at least thats what the manual says :lol:

    I totally tried that and still couldn't get it to go.

    I will try again.

    :? Makes NO senses.All the lever does when u shift it out of 4WD is to disengage the gear to the rear shaft.
