Whats up. You need the oil pan from a Rt4wd's d16. You still have your old one?
  • re the oil pan.
I'm looking at the one from my D16A6 engine from the shuttle and the one on a D16Z6 engine. I really can't see any differences between them. Both have a cut out at the back of it.

I think I'd rather do as the guys swapping RT4WD into the civic and chop the back of it to allow removal without removing the engine/gearbox/diff.

When i did my DOHC swap i never needed to use the RT4WD oil pan but i did need to use the RT4WD housing plate (the plate that protects the flywheel and clutch).
  • That's a right monkey to get to as well. I think there is probably a better way to attach it for easy removal but good protection.

If you look at the ITR setup it's a single piece ally which incorporates the brackets and the cover in one, but yet is fairly open under the sump side of it.

I figure that either attaching something to the sump or making it stronger and doing away with 1/2 of the required bolts might be the way forward.
Perhaps with a built on sump guard. Dunno, thinking out loud

Idk about you guys with the JDM/EDM oil pans but us north american guys need to use an oil pan from a RT4wd OR a 2WD WAGON

Maybe the JDM EDM market use all the same oil pan because when i swapped out my blown motor for a JDM SOHC ZC, the oil pan on the ZC worked just fine. :?:

JDM SOHC ZCs came out of RTi wagons remember. :P
