What a gorgeously clean wagon. The grey looks fantastic, and the painted bumpers really give the car a classier look. I'll definitely have to keep that in mind. Props on the awesome wagon! I'm jealous!
  • My wagon has been tucked away in a body shop for over three years now...

...but it's about to come out of hiding.

Hey man, that's all I got from the body shop. Shitty cell teaser pics. He did snap some of the interior for which is being shampoo'd and vacuumed, etc.

A place for a bunch of assholes to gather and complain.
  • I've never been a fan of online threads that made dumpsters look amazing - like you see it online and it looks AMAZEBALLS, but then you see it in person, or ride in it, and it's..well...a dumpster.

I'm calling my own wago out here - it's a deathtrap, and not much fun to drive right now. This is why I've not been so quick to update this thread.

The bottom line? My "super awesome" Eibach Pro Street-S for EF hatch/sedan is just too damn soft, and that translates into some straight up SCARY, UNSAFE, 100% nerve-racking daily driving on the highway. I drive 90 miles or so round trip to work, almost exclusively highway miles, and anything over 60mph feels like the slightest movement of the steering wheel will result in a total loss if control because this wago feels top heavy, and floaty as HELL. It bottoms out far too easily, corners like a god damned boat, etc.

..but god DAMN it looks absolutely STUNNING going down the road, or hard parked in my garage.

    TL;DR:

I'm real - this wagon looks siiick as fuck, but is scary as fuck to drive above 50mph. I will sort this out by swapping the entire suspension - period.

I've got the skunk2 full coilovers on my car now and it's ridiculously stiff and planted. If for some reason you're ever around I'll gladly let you drive mine and see what you think.

I've got some Qs for you then!

Which Skunk2 coil-overs? They offer up the Pro-S-II and Pro-C versions. Did you buy for EF, DA, etc? Got a pic of how it sits? Did you have to set them at wildly different levels to get the car to sit level? Are the bodies themselves adjustable separately from the spring perches?

    Thanks dude!

I got the Pro-S-II, I didn't have a need or want to spend the extra money on the dampening since it's not a DD. I bought mine for the EF chassis. The picture below is with them both at the same height. I set them at the same height so I could adjust from there and this is how it ended up which I was fine with. The only adjustment of these is by turning the lower fork side of it and then locking the rings when it's in place.

  • I have Skunk2 pro C coilovers on my wagon and eg hatchback. My wagon has an 8K spring rate on all four corners and I have daily driven this particular set up for about two years now and it's fairly comfortable and handles moderately. Have you tried to change your a pring rates on your set up yet? that might be an inexpensive alternative. Very clean wagon.

    What's the tint % ?

    Liking this!
  • Real nice.
  • I'll second the PRO-SII. I got mine corner balanced and set up for a street/auto-x camber/toe and it rides like its on rails, the spec sheet is in my blog somewhere. I ordered the 541-05-4715 for civic/crx with the default spring rates. I'm also using Skunk2 adjustable upper control arms in the front and rear as well. Aside from helping replacing some worn bushings it really helps when dropping it off to get balanced by a good suspension shop. Corner balance and full f/r alignment was about $400. I adjusted to the height I wanted and they adjusted it slightly for the corner balance. I couldn't really tell the difference but I think my front right is 1/4" higher or something like that.

  • Super, and Rev - definitely appreciate the suspension info. I've got a few things in the works for the wagon - the suspension will be sorted on one of two ways. Either I'll come out of pocket for some Pro SII, or a buddy of mine is giving me some Pro-C from his EG that has literally 4 track events on them. If his replacement insane Eibach set-up takes too long then I'll buy Pro SII.

I'm also working on a new engine set-up. I may have my current B18B1 set-up for sale soon including a complete set of B series AZ Race Machine mounts, and a cable GS-R (92-93 B17A take-off) with a box full of all new bearings for it. The B18B1 is the strongest running LS engine I've encountered in my 20 or so years of messing with Hondas, no shit. I never really planned on getting rid of it, but if this deal goes through I cannot pass up the opportunity to upgrade.
  • Awesome, looking forward to hearing about the progress!

No problem man! I'm guessing Type R setup if you're going to do away with that GSR trans too.
  • Current situation - AMR coilovers for DC chassis with 650F/750R rates. I used 1992-1995 front forks. I included pics of fork comparisons to show wagon and EG forks are identical except for only the inner diameter of where the fork slips over, and pinch bolts to the shock bodies.

Rides STIFF. Handles amazingly well. I drive 90 miles round trip to work daily, and it's a mix of interstates, and some twisty backroads. It's so much fun to drive now! Reminds me of my 1992 hatch that was very well sorted for auto-X.

Damn. No love? Try Googling "B18C5 wagon" and you won't find one. All you'll find is random threads about my wagon.

You guys EVER see a B18C5 wagon before?
