Input shaft bearing noise?

I just recently flew to Washington to buy a 91 rt4wd. When I test drove it I noticed some vibration in 2nd gear. Now it seems to be getting worse. Its is a grinding/vibrating feeling and noise coming from the front of the car and through the pedals under load it gets worse. Near idle it goes away, and it only happens through certain RPM ranges (around 3000 rpm it starts and goes away by 4500 or so) I can notice it in every gear If the load is right. I can hear a slight whirring noise if Im sitting in nuetral and let out the clutch. Im leaning towards input shaft bearing? Any other ideas? Everything else about the tranny works great, absolutely no grinds, id like to fix it if I can, but not sure where to find the bearing or seal?

Disengage the rear drive and see if the noise goes away.
I switched the transmission to 2wd this weekend and verified it was switched. Same exact vibrating noise is evident.
I picked up a used tranny this weekend as well, so I have extra gears/synchros if I ever need them. Ive been doing some research and it looks like everything parts wise for the tranny is discontinued.
it's definitely not a differential or wheel bearing. the noise goes away when clutch goes in, or power load is decreased. and it goes away after about 4000 rpm in second gear. (if it was a diff it would get noisy higher rpms) its gotta be the input shaft bearing. looks like im going to have to disassemble my tranny. Any advice, is It about the same as taking apart a 2wd d16 tranny?
Can anyone confirm it looks like the bearing part number is actually 91004-pg1-008 and not 91004pg1880 like the link posted above states?
