New 2WD Civic Wagon driver

Hello all, I'm in Colorado Springs and I've got my hands on a 1990 2WD wagon. I'm just learning the ins and outs of this vehicle and making many repairs. To start with the suspension was eating tires and making noise. I've tracked that down to a broken LF strut coil. Now I'm finding those coils are not the same as regular Civics. Yeah, you can find new coils for lowering or raising but no one seems to make OEM style coils. I got some regular Civic coils out of the junk yard this morning I can tell you that they are an inch shorter (unloaded). If you have a coil or a pair to get rid of, please let me know.

I wish this car was a standard shift as the acceleration is pretty poor. I'm hoping a tune up will help.

That's all for now. I'll be lurking about, reading and asking questions!

Even with a 5 speed, the DPFI cars are slow.
I solved that problem with a DOHC ZC.
  • Welcome hrod! I will be moving to the springs here in the next couple months and then we'll have to get up. Hopefully there's a decent wagon scene in that area, not much here in Norfolk VA. :/
