i broke the front drive shaft U joint. im looking at $$$ to have it Frankenstein repaired or buy an used one at almost the same price to run the risk again of it failing. is it wise to just delete the middle of the drive shaft. have a strait shaft from front to rear, eliminate the issues of the driveshaft without the flex joint that helps keep the shock of the engine sway from the rear transfer case? all repair parts are discontinued. am i able to use a crv driveshaft if shortened as a replacement?

Did the shaft break from age and neglect or from 700hp?
The VC not only takes up some movement but also allows the front and rear tires to spin at different speeds. If you have a solid shaft and you are on pavement you would burn up a diff or transfer case real quick. Not suggested unless the wagon is going fully offroad.
You could probably fab something with a CRV shaft/diff, but the cost would be higher than finding a replacement RT shaft.
$399 with VC.
