D16A6 Upper timing belt cover
NaturalSelection
Band Wagon
I blew a head gasket on my 91 rt4wd. A friend helped me with the replacement. During the process we removed the Inner Upper timing belt cover. The seal on the piece was thoroughly melted. Unable to find a new one I just put everything back together and it all seems to be running fine. If this piece even necessary?
The problem though is that now I have no Upper timing belt cover and if I do find the right inner cover to replace the old one will I have to pull the camshaft to get it back on? What a pain in the ass. A weird question I know but any knowledge would be great. I hope to try to source a replacement and get it on there this weekend so if anyone has any ideas on how it can be done without bulling the camshaft would be great!

When you do find a replacement, all you need to do is remove the valve cover, put it into place & bolt it down. No messing with the camshaft or gear is necessary.
